Ok, lol. I am probably not gonna apply to IMSA because I could not even get into Integrated science (I think). They said they will notify you when the application process is complete, but they never did. They did however send emails to the people who were accepted. So, I am pretty sure I didn’t get accepted. So, yeah next year I am not applying because if I couldn’t get in a camp, I couldn’t even think about getting into IMSA. So, cya
@lsutiger25 I did not get mail about SEAMS or Integrated science acceptance. Mails about SEAMS decision were sent on Wednesday, USPS here is really bad… I can only hope I will get it tomorrow… Integrated science decision will be made, I assume, only next week. You might get into Integrated science, just wait one more week.
@lsutiger I received email about acceptance into IMSA@Math program, do you think this means I was not accepted into Integrated Science?
hi guys, for those people who got wait-listed, did you receive any invitation cards that needs to be sent back to IMSA?
@javascript Basically because my two other friends got emails saying they were accepted into the program.
@hubert1115 I was wondering the same thing.
Did anyone get any invitation cards that need to be sent back to IMSA?
@hubert1115 @CharlesVarracuda it is the “Admissions Invitation Response” card. IMSA website marked it as “INCOMING ONLY” on the check-list.
@bubblemaster3000 Oh ok, thanks!
@lsutiger25 Got SEAMS mail today about acceptance. Too bad you did not apply for SEAMS… :-<
@javascript I wasn’t too big into IMSA in the first place tbh. Also, I am going to Neuqua, which is a really good school in Illinois. Although, you should go to IMSA because the education there is really good. For me, Ill just aim for being the top at Neuqua
@lsutiger25 are you giving up our plan to take over some unpopulated districts of IL to get a better chance on getting in? [-( … well, good luck on getting on top of Neuqua. Just send all your competitors to IMSA and you will will be the best there :D/ … However, if you change your mind about going to IMSA or I will not change mine to go there, see you next year :-bd
@javascript Eh I may apply still because I will take the SAT again in December, and if I get a really good score, than I will apply lol. But, Plan B shall always be there to move to the remote areas of Illinois
I’ve been watching this forum, and I got accepted to IMSA. So, I had few questions about the placement testing.
- I didn’t take any chem o/ physics class. So how can I possible take a test? Do I have to take a science test?
- What is the benefit of taking both chem and physics test?
@ansekdls3 hi! if you look at the placement test registration page on https://www.imsa.edu/studentlife/parents/registrationsoph19 (this is also where you have to fill in all the medical, roommate, etc. registration forms), you will see that you do not have to register for either a chemistry or a physics placement test. personally, i have some experience in both, so i’m going to take them in the off-chance that i’m able to skip the class. you can choose to take neither, just one, or both - its up to you. the only required test is the one in mathematics, but if you have any experience with a world language, i would recommend taking the placement test, so you are not put in the lowest level. hope i helped!
- The test is just to see how much chemistry or physics you actually know and if you don’t know it, don’t put anything. It’s only to see if you know enough to test out of the class. Last year, it wasn’t for placement testing and I would imagine it’s the same for you guys. We just took it on the first day of the semester we had either chem or physics. The placement testing is just math and if you choose to do it, foreign language.
- Every sophomores takes the test.
@notarapper @llanaknits Wait, so I don’t have to take it if I don’t want to?
@javascript
Do you want to create a new forum for people who are attending seams this year?
@XxSwegLordxX Let’s do it! Did you notice that SEAMS evaluation is actually a ticket to IMSA? I mean if you do really good, you actually get accepted to IMSA; however, if you do really bad, you decrease your chances to acceptance tremendously… I am nervous a bit…
Do you know if there was previous years SEAMS forum to continue?
@javascript So long as you don’t sniff markers during SEAMS, you’re good.
Not that it’s happened before or anything…
@notarapper I’ve heard teachers telling me that the work load at IMSA is so much, that it dramatically affects your GPA. And if it affects your GPA, it affects your chances of going into to decent colleges like U of I. I think I would agree about GPA affecting your chances to colleges because colleges prioritize your GPA as the first most important thing on your application.
I am just curious to hear about what you have to say about this, since you’re already a student at IMSA. Thanks in advance!!
