The essay questions have all changed btw. So good luck!
@YoloSwagMaster Unfortunately no
@priyaluvsbooks Oooh awesome! I’m applying as a 9th grader though And thanks!
@red42413 Oh nice. So even with a 4.0 and 1980 sat, its still hard to get in as an 8th grader?
@priyaluvsbooks Hey, what was the statistics of your roommate. Like, what region, what gpa, etc.?
@red42313 Hopefully we will see each other next year! We basically have the same application I have a higher math but lower reading, what here your writing scores? Since they count those.
You know sometimes I think the stats for accepted applicants are off. I’ve talked to a few applicants and they all got lower than the “average”. I could easily be wrong, just a small trend I’ve noticed.
@YoloSwagMaster Yeah, but think about it. There are those whiz kids who get 2400 all day every day. So, that probably is the reason why the average is bumped up. What was your individual scores when you applied in 8th grade
I forgot. I believe it was higher than what j scored before. @lsutiger25.
@lsutiger25 Yeah, And I didn’t even get an 8th grader conference thingy or anything. Oh well, I’m sure you’ll be great! You’ve got this!
@YoloSwagMaster That would be awesome! My writing is trash though, I only got a 650 but I am working on that
Wow. I got a 600 writing. :(. A 620 reading and a 740 math. @red
@YoloSwagMaster That’s an amazing math score, holy cow!
I was aiming for a perfect score. Not even close. We are applying to a math academy. @red42413
@Yoloswagmaster I know but it’s very good considering we’re just freshmen in high school. I’m trying to be positive about this. And if you just get your CR and writing up a a bit to at least around 660s, you’re really a shoo-in.
I have a really quick question: Does anyone think I can put my threes years of CTD camps on my application? And can I use my biomed teacher from CTD to do my science teacher evaluation? My physics teacher doesn’t even know my name and thought I was a transfer student last week for some reason so I’m not very comfortable having her evaluate me.
@red42413 Yeah those three years at CTD are good. I went to CTD as well :P. For the recommendations, you can use your 8th grade science teacher if you want.
Imsa just released a sample application that the actual application will resemble. The application date has been pushed to mid-november D:. https://www.imsa.edu/sites/default/files/upload/imsa_sample_application_2015-2016_2.pdf
I saw that. What is CTD @lsutiger25 @red42413
@YoloSwagMaster CTD is a camp held In northwestern for gifted and talented students from the grades of like 3-12. It allows you to do advanced classes and stuff. Pretty cool stuff but you have to apply to get into the program.
Oh
@YoloSwagMaster Yeah, what lsutiger25 said. It’s pretty fun, too. The teachers are pretty great and a lot of them are very high up. I took Alg2/Trig as an intro class to the subject in the summer before 8th grade and the instructor was Doc Mauer-Oats, he said that he helped out the IMSA math team.
@lsutiger25 I saw that, I wonder why it was pushed back On the other hand, the sample essays will be good practice! And we can see what info IMSA is expecting and judging our applications on, too.
