Merc…that’l be two years down! I mean im not sure how colleges will view this. I understand the desperation of getting out off the mess called indian higher ed, but just think about it…2 years? Im not sure…ul be nearing 20 when you join college…just weigh the pros and cons. maybe IUB might be a good bet. maybe you can apply as a transfer, so u wont waste a year…

rao…u gonna take a year off? how old are u?

merc-u definetly can enroll in a college and apply as a freshman. This is coz in places like Delhi University,u will have enrolled for hardly 3-4 months before u send in your application and you can add that you did college-level courses to it,thus making it stonger.I know a guy who went to Venkateshwara college and was accepted to Brown on a full ride, also another guy who went to DCE and was accepted to Columbia on a full ride who did the same

And somebody advise me on what to do-Should I enroll at Duke already or should I apply again after 6 months to princeton ED?(taking a semi-gap year?)

well…its easier to transfer from good places. I mean u just have to maintain a good GPA in Duke, and do a couple of special things and it should be a fix. Also try HYSM…not just P for transfer, if ur doing that. If I got duke, I woulda just gone. its a great place…

Duke is a great university, i think you should go there, its in princetons league because it focusses more on undergrad education, which HYP dont do.

Princeton is all about undergraduate focus and Yale isn’t too shabby in that department either. I am not qualified to say anything about Duke seeing that I didnt apply there…

Good luck to everyone with all your plans

astrix- a heartfelt thank you to you too :)

yeah such, it means to me to be able to mean what i’m saying =:)

go duke kash! altho i did read they dont give ipods anymore… hmmm… that’s still reason to reconsider :p

yeah SP i kinda like the idea of enrolling fall 2006… so much time to do so many things! in fact i used to toy with the idea of deferring admission for an year before i had any idea what my d’s would turn out like.

Don’t count on transferring…Pton will want you to take their requirements and it can collide with Duke’s req…and you have no guarantee…I would say just go to Duke and then go Pton for grad school…good luck
