hey jimminy! they’re fabulous!..My only suggestion would be that you should diversify and try out different things and different mediums. I’m sure you’d do well.

P.S: Who were the comments (very very very good :D) from, BTW?

P.S: Who were the comments (very very very good :D) from, BTW?

Thanks Gandalf…are you gandalf the grey or gandalf the white?
my art teacher at school wrote those comments…im an (or rather was) an elective art/science kid. I had Physics Chem Math with el art and el english.

“Are u sure u r an Indian. Kuch gadbad hai! Indians don’t really feel guilty for any mistakes they commit.”

that is SOOOOOO true!

Well I guess it isn’t too common for us to feel guilty about things…but I was just wondering how that would have affected my college admission. Moreover, due to some computational errors in school(the computer department was coming out late with the report cards so the counsellor let me find out about other peoples grades and estimate mine), a couple of grades in the transcript I sent were slightly better A+ instead of A(missed the + by a mark and a half), A instead of B, than the real ones. So I’m having doubts whether I can take up the college. I later sent them a mail telling them about the real grades but they haven’t expressly replied to that. The college I’ve got into is Yale. What I was wondering is if I can yet ethically take it… taking into account these factors and a few more smaller ones.

hydel…

are u u sane???(dont mind me)…but ofcorse u will take yale…n if ur ethics are stopping u…then just promise urslef…tht once ur in thr…u will giv in ur very best…making it a worthwhile seat u have occupied…

remebr ur beign given an opportunity…wich thousands are craving for…and opportunities dont knowck on evryones door…n not everyday…so take it…if u lose ur chance today…no1 will do nethign but sympathise with u…

so go for it…acoordign to me…

congrats n all the best!!

:)

jimminy

i learn art too…not as a curriulum subject…thts my co-curricular…activity…but id o giv exams in private n all…

n i think those are soem of the most beautiful paintings i have seen…

so…do u only use water colors as ur medium??..or have tried othrs too??..i have tried more/less different kinda…except oil yet…

seriously they are beautiful…all the best thr…ams ure if nothign else…u have a lot of scope in this field…

although…the lizard project was well very artistic fine…but id nt think i wud have managed doign smethign lik tht…:p…

neway…i guess tht was all i ha dot say…

hydel: I agree 100% with premanjali. Go there, don’t let the ethics of it bother you. As it is, you should’ve worried about it while you were filling in the app. Now that you’re offered a seat, don’t let anything hold you back, ethical or not. The world is not as idealistic as you’d want it to be. As premanjali said, just promise yourself that once there, you will give it your best. Plus, you did not get in because of a couple of numbers or letters. You got in because of the whole app - who you are and what you can become. So don’t feel bad, it’s all done now.

jimminy, amazing work. I loved it! Especially the “What would we do without Art” and the lizards…they were brilliant!

jimminy your portfolio is very impressive
even a total ignoramus like me could figure that those were brilliant.
I second nt's opinion…I loved the lizards!

random post: today is 05/05/05 :)

ok jim, i have to agree with ritz n nt tt the mosaic are lovely!! :)

and i like the one with a besket too, dunno why it reminds me of enid blyton and all her stories with picnic and children and it juz gives a warm and fuzzy feeling… wraps my jacket closer :p

Thank you very much all of you. Im slowly uploading my whole portfolio online, so that it doesnt get wrecked in my drawers or something. Wow, what great comments! Thank you!

what is this thread/???

why is it so long??
what is the topic ??
are there really tha tmany indians at CC?

it is TiT!! ( the indian thread )
it is so long cos there are so many posts…
topic is everything under the sun
does not matter how many indians, we juz rock! :D

and yeah, there are many indians at CC tho lots of them dun post here (or dun even know this thread exists )

Hmmm first of all i really doubt that yu got into college becaus eof your Ec’s hours( they just see the amount to see that you have been committed to it or not? so 70 or 55 dont really matter)

But on the other hand you say some of your grades were manipulated, that’s kind adisappointing because a A and a B makes a hell of a difference esp at a college of Yale’s calibre.

I am going to disagree with some of the people who have already voiced their opinions(sorry guys). If you think you havn’t deserved a place in Yale ( thats upto you to decide we can only give inputs) then go to a place which you think you absolutely deserve to be an where all your hard work has shown off ( even if its some ****ty college in india ). dude if you got into yale they probably looked at something apart frm your grades and EC hours think of it that way.

Otherwise be a ■■■■■■■ and go to Yale ( that’s what i would have done, because I would feel i deserve a place amongst the top be it IIT, BITS( -pilani or even MIT
. Even if i had cheat in boards and get that extra 2 % to get into BITS i would do so without any qualms ( its would be different if i needed 10 % more lol ) .

wow I must be really bored with my AP and IB tests ( lol readers dont try to decipher my post its useless:p)

u shud have warned us before we read it and not at the end!!.. :p

heh Neha that was the purpose

I always have people listen to me before i ask them to stop :D

can someone explain how you get the dark grey background when u quote someone else’s post?
