BOO! :D

yes. i say this without any hesitation. It was calcualtion heavy - questions which we generally do for long-answer kind of stuff, it was boring, it had unwieldy numbers (we arent allowed to use calculators) and there wasnt enough time.

<wondering what=“” that=“” was=“” about…=“”></wondering>

hmmmm… someone i know got 245 on the BITSAT… is that good enough for BITS? 245 was the highest in his centre btw…

(i am completely clueless of all these entrance test thingy’s)

yea, i agree with all the ppl there, aieee math was bad! phy and chem ok, but math killed all of us!

i dont think so. i got 335 and i dont think i’ll get in. i know people with 400+ - not many, though, maybe 10 or 12.

shashank, BOO  was a way of saying I was there :D

I didn’t write AIEEE - but my friends did, including the one whose birthday was today :p

please tell me that a) this is not representative of an average AP Physics class or b) AP Physics B is some sort of thing for kids or c)i am missing something very fundamental, like these guys are still in their 10th or something like that.

EDIT - and how does this compare to the average A-level class?

I think Physics C’s slightly tougher - but it covers less topics.

slightly tougher?!?!?!? I’ve got to know more - much more - than what these people seem to to ****ing pass my CBSE board exams. Arent APs supposed to be, um, ***HARD? , or maybe ADVANCED??? *** and these guys get into MIT without much of a hassle, huh…

really?? hmmm… mpost of my friends in bbay thought the highest in india was 375… this is gonna disappoint them…

hahah… i saw that AP thing… i hate science and i studied exactly 2 days of physics (2 days before my HSC paper, that it) and i could answer all that!!!

wow its ridiculous…

Does the link given by Shash_rao direct to students discussing Physics AP?

Adides,we are in comparison better at our 11-D thoughts and the Vector nature of time !

FlameT, keep updating me about the Debate.

Send in the possible list of topics that may be discussed/debated.

I just hope I don’t have to take PHY 101 just because I didn’t take an AP Physics Test

~sucharita : "I just hope I don’t have to take PHY 101 just because I didn’t take an AP Physics Test "

What does that mean?

sucharita, it may be a good idea to just take the damn APs immediately. I dont think it’ll take much effort, just as long as you can figure out how one goes about taking the things in India.

dont waste frkn 120 bucks on a bloody AP sucrita. there’s those placement things…

too late shashank. APs are in May and in order to take them, you have to register wayyy in advance (like Akash did, smart guy  )

Shabin, taking AP tests and scoring above a certain grade in them earns you credits and exempts you from introductory level courses. It will be unnecessarily time-consuming (not to mention exceedingly galling) to take introductory courses in subjects like Physics when I already know everything that the AP guys do though I haven’t taken the exam. The problem of time management will be compounded by the fact that I’ll have to deal with stuff like learning a new language and catching up with the Arts and Humanities, the study of which I had pretty much relegated to a shadowy corner of my mind over the past 2 years.

yeah astrix I have no intention of spending that money - but I couldn’t even if I wanted to.

The placement exams are a good option - I know they exist but the website is not very easy to navigate and the departmental sites are suitably vague about them, apart from the Math dept.

haha…that is true…AP Exams are crap…I passed all my AP Examps without doing much. The CBSE/CET exams are much tougher.
