ohisee

gahhh! I was winning! I was winning! And she up and left!

Hmm Merc i believe there’s terrible grade deflation in senior secondary schools instead atleast in Delhi and surrounding regions. Because in my prev school along with other schools the purposefully mark you down a lot so that the students prepare better. Atleast this holds true to my school because people who regularily scored in the 40’s to 60s range scored 70 or 80 % this time.85 % of all students scored above 78 % which is fishy because people who used to fail always do well comparitively ?( my school sucks which leads me to believe they may have a connection with cbse:))

Its probably just opposite in Patna i guess? Or i can be making wrong generalization from an example.

Both ways I HATE CBSE, even if they do screw up the process of appealing is soo long that you don’t care any longer.

sorry for the ambiguos post everyone MOVE ON !!

No, it’s exactly the same here. My school has terrible marking. They cut marks for right answers :-/ It’s ridiculous. You prepare hard and put down every single answer verbatim, and you get ZERO for half the answers - shake any student’s confidence.

But my school has never seen a single failure in ICSE/ISC in the almost 30 years of its history (there was one guy last year, but his was a forced case…) Reason - massive grade deflation in internal exams.

So seeing nt, akash and others getting 60s in subjects they are otherwise brilliant in, I couldn’t think of any other reason, cuz if there was a grade deflation, it’d have been the other way round (they’d be getting 60s/70s in school and 90+ in boards). So sorry guys for my previous remark… I guess CBSE really IS screwed up.

btw

India and China are empires :)

LoL… in my previous CBSE school in Dubai, we had models ( which were mock exams held right before the boards… ) … Your entry into the commerce or Science stream for 11th grade depended on the models results ( since boards results come out in june which would be too late for the Dubai CBSE schools which start in April ) … It was taken as a general rule of thumb that if you get 70 in the models, you’d be somewhere in the 80’s for the boards and so on ( There was a range of marks that were to be added to your Models score which would give you your BOARDS average range… can’t remember it though ) …

I heard from a friend that this years 10th grade CBSE boards were pretty easy compared to the previous few years… Is this true?

Technically speaking, no! ;)
