What’s the statement say?
I got my acceptance letter but it was for my second choice

It just popped up in the portal under the checklist. Optional new information and supplement to be considered.

Same? But instead of “awaiting decision” it says nothing. Just optional > Additional Statement. I guess that’s a deferral? But wouldn’t they say that?
The additional statement says this - so that seems like a deferral.

There’s an email now too explaining. Continued review in second choice major due to limited capacity first choice major. So yep, deferred. DS has his heart set on another school so luckily this doesn’t faze him too much. And it’s not a no!
Hang in there. I had kid a few years ago with not so great stats. He was deferred. He wrote a very simple statement that he was interested in Indiana and was admitted a few weeks later.

In DD’s portal it says “Status: Application Complete”. And it lists her uploaded materials, etc. Her application was submitted well before midnight on Nov. 1. Is there a reason she would not have heard today??
I would add–supporting materials from her school (transcript, guidance counselor report etc.) went out the next day (Nov. 2). Is that the issue possibly? Super stressed over here like we messed this early action thing up!
Keep refreshing - it’s bound to update soon. When ours changed the “application complete” box went away entirely and the new item to upload was added to the to-do list. And “awaiting decision” was gone from the status section. Then a few minutes later the email arrived.
Hope you are correct about Kelley direct admits in waves.
My OOS S26 got admit today to Pre-Business and you will hear from Kelley message. He had chosen Business Exploratory for Kelley.
Hope we find out before our Mar spring break trip through midwest Big 10 admits, so we can visit the campus. Apr 15 seems too late to make a decision by May 1.
We are freaking out here as we too have not heard but many of his friends have
that happened to us with clemson and now I am freaking that it happening to everything
I realize we’re not in the Kelley School mix, but my DD did just hear that she got into IU! Go Hoosiers! (And thanks for encouraging us to just keep refreshing!) Good luck to everyone on their decisions!

I hope I am right too. but take it with a grain of salt lol I might just be delusional. But we can’t conclude that we were rejected yet bcs it says we will get a decision. So eventually we will get something else
For what it’s worth, which may be nothing, my older son applied to Kelley a couple years ago. He didn’t have the SAT scores needed for the old DA requirements, but did the review process (no longer a thing) and was admitted Pre business and then received DA 2 months later. My younger son applied this year. He did not submit SAT scores and was admitted DA today. My younger son had a slightly higher GPA, but more ECs and leadership experience.
I honestly think the “and you will hear from Kelley” is a mistake and they just forgot to delete that last paragraph which prob appeared after they first submitted the KPI
