Last I heard there were something like 3k Early Action applications still to process a few days ago. IU had always intended to batch out releases and for whatever reason accelerated that in late November for a period of rolling admits.
The amount of emails/calls/requests that come from admission decisions is overwhelming for AOs asking questions on merit, logistics so they are trying to put in a few breaks. Itâs also a reason schools release decisions when AO office is closed and often on a Friday to give a cool down period.
Applications are generally given a random number in order to be reviewed. It has nothing to do with higher or lower stats. IU did appear to give some decision preference to apps that came in August/September maybe because it was a transition from rolling admit to early action.
The way the holidays fall this year doesnât behoove many decisions in the next 2 weeks but we can hope.

Also waitingâŠD submitted 10/31. Does the portal confirm early action status? I donât have access to her account. Her stats are on the high side for both IU and Kelley.

We petitioned for Kelley in October (my son applied test optional but was well over the minimum GPA, lots of ECs, sports, volunteering, etc.). He was accepted 11/28 into the pre-business university division per the portal and materials we received today, but that could change if his petition is successful, I am assuming? There is no mention of it in the letter.
