Would a Kelley student not automatically be selected to apply for the kelley scholarships through the SSA? If itâs based on division / school, then that makes it even more confusing why we didnât get the invite.
She didnât know when the next batch was going out. She said it was truly random.

I would have to think that if theyâre releasing decisions this week theyâre only releasing acceptances. Would be kind of cruel to defer or reject a kid so close to Christmas, right?

Thanks for calling - My D attended two high schools and I believe the second school calculates GPA differently, so that could cause some delay in her review? I did read somewhere on CC that IU recalculates everyones GPA off their transcript but Kelley does not? So Iâm not sure if that is the cause or just luck of the draw? January will be here soon - Best of luck to everyone waiting.

Lots of people have high stats and thatâs awesome but it is nothing truly remarkable. If itâs why am I not receiving SSA invite or Hutton scholarship therapy I cannot help you. You will have to call IU and ask. Is it ânormalâ yes its normal. College apps and scholarships is often the first adversity many high stat kids face in the why was I not receiving X. Not everyone admitted to Kelley auto direct receives SSA invite. It also may just not be set up yet. I know 2 weeks in the eyes of a high school student is an eternity - it is very short time frame as a working adult in admissions during admissions season.

You have to understand the admissions software. All Kelley is doing is looking at the software and seeing what is the GPA and with multiple high schools it does not record as a full GPA. So you have to trigger human review either by a Kelley petition and/or calling Kelley to have someone look at it. Itâs not like someone at Kelley sees your transcript and says oh yeah two high schools. They literally will not look at it unless triggered.

I just went through the complete thread. I could not found any direct auto Kelley and Hutton admit getting SSA invite or Huttons scholarship. Only Deans scholarship is awarded to some.
Did someone got the invite for SSA/Huttons scholarship?

It is awarded to OOS students and range from 1-11k/year. It is based on WGPA + SAT/ACT score.
If you denied the portal turns Black and Gold and reads âGo Boilermakers!â

D wasnât technically âinvitedâ for SSA but after submitting the GSA (activity list and essay) it showed up and she is now eligible to submit the SSA research paper/essay.

My daughter meets DA criteria except transferred from public to private HS & this was response from IU admissions when she emailed. Sounds more like computer glitch ? I called admissions office & they said she needs to write 2 additional essays & submit for review
