It was sent to everyone. It shouldnt say that you are REQUIRED to do it. It’s weird though. I was really confused for a bit but the more i read it the more I was like oh its fine if you know for a FACT that you are DA
So sent to everyone who applied to business?
The email was probably sent to all applicants indicating business but having not sent in a petition, but that’s just a guess. Very few emails are sent personally - we tend to react to them based on our situation. You would be shocked how many applicants put business as intended major and do not realize or just do not actually petition. So “required” is meant in that context.
Direct Admit days of all kinds are far more beneficial than Red Carpet Days. Meeting other students is more likely if you attend the receptions. Less the sales pitch than you’ll get an understanding of IU and the particular DA program.
IU is definitely gearing up to release yes, remember it takes a few days to receive the email from the admit on the portal, they want to email you by Jan 15.
Yes we did! Same question:)
Do you (or does anyone else) know if the Media School has sent out responses? Daughter applied for Communications. A lot of her friends have heard from IU but they were all pre-business…
My daughter applied for Psychology also from NJ. We haven’t heard anything yet either and no changes on her portal like others have discussed.
I recall a couple OOS early action acceptances for media (higher stats, direct admits) but not many. That said, this board mainly focuses on the Kelley school. Maybe have your kid join the IU zeemee group for more info…
how does my daughter join the IU Zeemee group? Is there a link you could attach?
Zeemee is an app, it’s a social media app for kids to find roommates etc. The kids can join the “applied” group for any college they applied to and meet other kids, join chat rooms etc. it’s been helpful
My DS is a sophomore at IU. Honestly, the best roommates are put together randomly from the housing office. I specifically asked this question at an FYE event. Housing staff also recommended that high school friends not room together as young people need to spread their wings and most of the traumatic roommate situations bubble up from folks who knew each other in high school. Second, my DD was accepted prior to Christmas and is a DA to the college of arts and sciences. We are super thrilled! Good luck everyone.
Kinda wish if that was the case, it specified that it was for Kelley/Pre-Business.
I know they said 1/15, it’s gut wrenching when 2 years ago my son heard in Nov, 2 weeks after applying. Her stats are in line for IU, but obviously waiting is not fun. Good luck to your daughter!
Anyone hear this week yet?
No response here - twins applied. One to Business (+ Review Request) and other to Arts & Science.
Nothing here. Applied 10/21.
Nothing here either
Did he receive a response yet? Same with my DS for DA stats and no response yet
My D24 admitted to IU at end of November (applied 9/4) but still waiting for decision on review request to Kelley (made 9/20). She applied TO and OOS.
I was told by someone very much in the know in admissions for general admission that it would be “shortly after the New Year” and that it would be over a period of days. Let’s hope shortly means today or early next week. I feel for everyone waiting. The only good news is the longer the wait - the shorter the days over which it is announced.
It would be optimistic to hear from Kelley prior to early March on reviews.
I wonder if they will just release the rest on the 15th
