Sending hugs! It was a long wait since he applied 10/15. This is the first school that lit up his face when he saw he was accepted. I hope that happens for every senior.
Admitted to Eskenazi, Merchandising BS. Applied 8/15!!! Good luck to everyone still waiting!!
Daughter just admitted applied. 10/30 3.6 GPA UW, College of Arts & Science (Psychology)
Good luck to everyone still waiting!!!
I agree with @tsbna44, call and ask. Donāt admit error, say that as youāve been further exploring you think you would rather be considered for x. They know kids change majors, so I suspect it isnāt a big deal. I also think the deferral is to IU, so a change has zero impact on admittance to the U. But you should ask that as well. It may make for an easier path to direct admit to your major if you move away from Kelley.
Admitted today to College of Arts and Sciences History major 28 ACT 3.2 W
Applied 8/11 BTW
Admitted today. Applied 10/25. Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering.

Best wishes to all on this roller coaster and congrats to your kiddos on their exceptional effort. To those of you who are seeing rejections, this is my fourth kid headed to college and each one has dealt with one (or more) disappointing results. Painful, yes! Youāre not alone. The sting is short-lived and soon theyāll be getting excited about their next chapter and buying t-shirts and stickers for the school theyāve chosen. Hang in there!
Is anyone aware of other forums (here or external) or other resources such as FB groups, etc for newbie Indiana University (or Kelley) parents where things such as housing, transportation, direct admit days, etc. get discussed?
I would suggest starting a IU Admitted Student thread here
There is an āIndiana University Class of 2028 - Parentsā group on FB. It only has 277 member so far, which seems low, but maybe it will grow? There is also an āIndiana University - Parents & Familiesā group w 9.4k members. I think you have to get approved into each.
The wait is over⦠Daughter was accepted for Media in the School of Arts & Sciences!!! YAYYYYY! This and JMU are her top 2 so this was THE happiest news!
Congrats! Rumor is that JMU EA comes out tomorrow!! Good luck to your daughter!
My twins were accepted today!!

You might want to call Kelley and tell them your situation. I think someone else on this board was in the same situation and Kelley switched them to DA. You clearly fulfill the requirements, itās just a glitch in the system that you donāt get processed as a DA.
(Someone please correct me if I misunderstood!)
Some of those topics are how does it work and some are community building. Housing apps will open soon and DA days are 30-45 days. Kelley specific issues can be a world of its own. DA days and Red Carpet will be the first step for most on that journey. Plenty of info to come enjoy the journey with your senior first and foremost. Almost everything takes care of itself.
I asked the admission rep who came to my school. She said I have to appeal anyways, but since I meet the minimum stats, I should probably get in.
if theyāre wearing masks to block an airborne virus, then they yes they are dumb
I donāt know why they are wearing them - workers and guests.
I only found out Covid is at a peak or recent peak because when I came home, I said to my wife, everyone was masking. The stores were packed because of the freeze.
And she told me why - infections, hospitalizations, and deaths are way up - and even those who whine about restrictions donāt want to die.
Iāve had it twice and Iāve been fortunate that it comes, it goes and Iāve been ok. I know many, including those I work with, have long covid and it sucks.
I rarely do the shopping - and I was surprised at all the masking as I hadnāt seen it before.
And Iām told thatās why.
I donāt take any position like most who said people should be free to do what they wanted but then were ripping masks off peopleās faces - those are tyrants.
Iām fine with everyone doing what makes them feel comfortable. And actually meaning it.
I canāt imagine youāll see forced restrictions anywhere in this country in your kidās college years. I think weāre passed that no matter how bad the numbers get.
But I can tell you - many many many in the south are apparently masking.
also, people in Costco choosing to wear masks is not the same thing as tuition-paying students being confined to their dorms for weeks, forcibly masked and forced to vaccinate/test, etc against their will. We are prioritizing schools that actually respected studentsā health autonomy and right to choose.
