You can be in Hutton and Kelley.
Is there any advantage to opening / activating the IU email right now if son (Kelley DA) is waiting to hear from other dream biz schools before committing to Kelley? Are there any emails that are sent only to IU email and not his personal email now that heâs gotten admission?
Accounting profession has LOTS of opportunity. Job prospects will be much better in next few years here than many other paths. 5th year is worth it.
I would sift through deadlines. You are probably very safe nowâ but in next month or two, certain internal housing applications will open up. So I wouldnât wait until May 1. You could get ball rolling in your current first choice school. Just be clear on what the consequences are for withdrawing if you switch schools later. For example- do you just lose a housing deposit? Etc.
in 2021- at Purdue, kids that waited to accept close to May 1 missed the housing app deadline, and had to live off campus freshman year. (They also ran out if dorm rooms for those that did⊠but thatâs another story).
Thanks. We do intend to apply for housing 2/1 when it opens up. But I wasnât sure if we want to go through the hassle of having to check another email (IU email) to get updates from IU. So my question was about can we do everything we need to do without having an IU email account. I guess, if the housing application wonât take a personal email, I wonât have a choice but to activate the IU email.
No advantage to signing up for housing early unless you want a LLC.
S24 opened the email account but has not gotten any emails there.
Actually, I read on their website that even if we submit LLC application with housing 2/1, they will review the LLC application only after he signs the Intent to Enroll form. So yeah.
WRT housing applications that open up 2/1, Iâm hearing conflicting information: some say itâs first come first served while others say itâs a lottery (they pick once all applications are in by May). Anyone here knows for sure?
Call IU Housing and ask - so youâll know for sure Then please report back
@miarocks: That makes sense to me, why would any school place people into limited LLC housing without an enrollment commitment?
Good news. I share not to boast (not even the slightest) but in case the kidâs stats are useful for anyone still waiting to hear. (Lord knows we have gotten a lot of use from this thread⊠so time to pay it forward. thank you for that)
The Kid got in earlier this week
Direct Admit to Kelley
3.9 Unweighted GPA
33 ACT
Out of state
Applied Early Action the last week apps were due.
Hope this helps and good luck to all your kids âŠand you! People seem to sometimes forget that we, parents, are almost as vested in this as our kids are, LOL!
Does anyone know what percentage of deferred students are historically admitted at IU, specifically for pre-business?
OOS/ TO / Pre-Business admitâŠKelly petition submitted:
What happens if after year one as a pre-business major he applies to Kelly via Standard admission with Bâs and above but due to the competitive nature he is not accepted?" âŠconsider an alternate major is what it sounds like ⊠I appreciate the collective take on this âŠ
When do notifications for auto-merit come? Nothing about it in my envelope with #IUSAIDYES.
how long to between acceptance and receiving your #IUSAIDYES swag bundle?
Iâve seen pictures of a scarlet sash with the above #âŠTIA
About ten days
wondering this too
When do most hear back if deferred? Is it one date in March? The essay due by 2/15⊠but wondering when people heard in the past.
FYI - If anybody is waiting on Kelley petition results, they have started to come out as per the petition tracker thread IU Kelley Petition Tracker 2024
