Indiana University - Bloomington Early Action for Fall 2024 Admission

If he still wants to pursue business, but does not obtain an spot in Kelly - I’ve read about other students that choose other majors in other areas of the university - but select Kelley minor(s). They consult with their advisor and carefully select classes that will make them prepared and marketable. There is more than one way to prepare for a career in business.

Yes our kid has invite to apply, we need to fill out the FAFSA for the scholarship. We did not ask for aid.

Does Dean’s Scholarship eventually show up in the portal? Admitted early January but have not received the IU letter in the mail yet.

My OOS student was accepted 1/8 and received email notification of dean’s scholarship on 1/16. Still no letter in the mail and nothing showing in portal.

OOS

Very happy. Given the excellence of the business school IU is now at the top of list of likely places our student will choose.

congrats… when did you apply?

Applied around Oct 15th. Was notified of acceptance around December 1st.

My OOS son was a direct admit to Kelley and also placed in Hutton a couple of weeks ago. He has gotten the emails from them but we keep waiting for the actual mail to come with the packet… anyone received this yet? Fingers crossed for ACE but that sounds pretty competitive. Thanks.

4.0 uw gpa
35 ACT (35,35,35,36)

Our letter took about 2 weeks to show up in the mail and we got in back in the first round of admits. So be patient…just got a huge box of swag as well!!!

Oh our kid got email about 3 weeks ago, no box of swags, just folder and stickers. OOS 1,370 SAT, IB diploma likely, uw 3.8 w 4.3, large magnet high school, plays a musical instrument well enough to be admitted into conservatory, very strong essays. Really sweet person.

If anyone was deferred EA, submitted the essay statement, and then received a new decision since then, please post here. Trying to determine if IU is making any decisions on deferrals based on information received since EA decisions were made. Thanks, and good luck to all!

D3 was accepted, OOS, to Kelley direct for Finance, a few weeks ago,
Did not see a Hutton invite, but we may have missed that. Or maybe she just was not invited.
She got an email, but nothing via snail mail as of yet.

Her stats if it’s helpful to anyone: 4.0UW, 5.2W, 1510 SAT, 10 APs and 10+ H. ECs were mediocre, varsity soccer and some clubs and charity stuff. No major hook. She did win an award from the HS, top 2% or so of 550 kids.

DS24 just got a Hutton email letter today as Direct Admit
Maybe you will hear soon too

Did any DA folks get admission package via mail from Kelley? My son was admitted Jan 9th but have not recd anything in mail yet.

OOS/ Kelley petition pending admit has yet to receive package as well…read it here somewhere that it could take about 2 weeks?.. that was about a week ago…so any day now ?

It’s from IU not Kelley. An 8 1/2 x 11 type of envelope with some stickers and a letter that looks exactly like the email you probably already received. Probably takes 3-4 weeks on average - they do not rush it to you kids check portal and email these days. The closer to Bloomington maybe the sooner you receive, they bulk mail them from batches. Might not have been mailed yet. The only Kelley mention is a statement that you have been admitted to Kelley. I don’t think there is anything in it that you would not know from email. Depending on the kid the mail is fun but mostly it’s fun for the parents who remember hearing by mail. Not a priority for IU. Does nothing for yield.

I thought the mail would include the IU Deans Scholarship info which is not in the email

@jefrobertson, do you have any sense how likely it is that students who meet the GPA/SAT qualifications for direct admit, but require review (for example, attended two high schools) will not end up being admitted in the end? Or will be admitted after the Direct Admit Days happen?
