Indiana University - Bloomington Early Action for Fall 2024 Admission

Since we haven’t received anything, I’m going to hope that they will be working and sending announcements out later this week

I would imagine admissions is working on all things related to incoming students, accepted students, etc with Red Carpet days coming up soon.

Just checked the portal and my son who had been deferred was admitted
Very excited

Was there an email to check the portal or were they just checking and saw the acceptance? Congratulations!

The latter…it says email will come in a week or so.

My source to check status was College Confidential. Otherwise, might still be waiting. He’s not a big email checker

Crickets still. She emailed admissions and they came back with a generic email that she will hear by the 15th. So odd as she has been admitted to a ton of schools and many with a lower acceptance percentage. Also, her original deferral email didn’t even sound like a deferral. Not getting a good feeling…

IU has rolled out its admissions every single time in batches over a few days. Not seeing it right this second means nothing. They upload decisions into the software and then it gets approved for release. It is not a school that releases every single decision at one time the way Wisky or Michigan will in a week or two or UW this week.

IU admissions is actively working this week. It’s an enormously busy time for juniors and seniors to visit campus and meet with Admissions.

Thank you for that insight! I appreciate it! Fingers crossed!

FWIW, the “congratulations” email was just received, almost precisely 24 hours after the portal update was noticed.

Family friend’s husband out of state daughter received acceptance notification on Monday after being deferred earlier in process.

Is this figure of the number of applicants coming from Kelley or is it your best guess? If they indeed sent out 26,000 offers to fill about 2,500 seats in the incoming freshman class, what does it mean, if anything?

26k was someone else’s well sourced number. There will be about 1700 spots in frosh direct class with 800 sophomore standard admits. 26k is all frosh apps to Kelley either stat auto admit or petition. Kelley will make offers to about 2000 petitions. I do not know what percent of the 26k is auto vs petition.

Who’s applying for sophomore class seats? They are not high school grads…Are they transfers from other schools?

EA deferred pre-business, today waitlisted. Low GPA, solid SAT, good business-related ECs. Indiana was top choice, so might wait & see

Just got waitlisted at IU about 10 minutes ago, just FYI.
