Indiana University - Bloomington Early Action for Fall 2024 Admission

Finance wasn’t good enough. They wanted pre-calc or calc after Alg 1, Geom, and Alg 2. Was a little surprised that they wouldn’t even complete her application. I can see them giving preference to those with more advanced math but don’t get the not even accepting the application

They do have specific criteria for admittance. There are some ppl who get dinged because they don’t have enough years of a foreign language, or other requirements. The math one is usually pretty clear. With all of the people that apply that DO have what’s needed, I’m not sure where they would make exceptions for one person if she does not meet the criteria.

does anyone know how to either sign up for NSO or how long they will take to send you an email about when you can because I have put down my enrollment deposit and the housing one and it has been 48 hours and I am not sure where you go to sign up for it?

They said they will send invites in April.

My DS didn’t meet the math requirement since our high school made math department changes. The Admissions Counselor suggested that my DS enroll in Trig since that was an option because pre-calculus was no longer available for second semester. As of today his application is still pending. I will be upset if the Admin Counselor provided us the wrong direction. I spoke to her a couple times and she was adamant that Trig would be sufficient. He was accepted any other schools even with merit and this math class is the holdup.

Trig should be fine.

FWIW, someone in the IU subreddit said they emailed Kelley scholarships and were told that their SSA would come out mid-April. Take it with a reddit-sized grain of salt.

Most Kelley SSA have a component of financial need in the consideration criteria.

I did talk to someone there a couple of weeks ago.

Wow - just checking my personal email. My kid was admitted in 2021 so two seasons ago - and here I got it - i’ve seen errors.

I wonder if next we’re getting - your ID was stolen…but don’t worry…we don’t think they did anything bad with it - but watch your credit just in case.

We received the apology email last night. I also had a Fall 2022 son at IU. Maybe sibling confusion? Who knows. Totally unacceptable though. My '24 senior received Guarantee transfer admission for Spring 2025. sooooo… Good luck everyone!

Yes this went to EVERY parent email from the last few years, especially cruel that it went to parents of kids denied or currently waitlisted…

agree…my daughter was waitlisted on 3/13 and received this email on 3/18. beyond cruel.

Can I ask why S22 transferred out?

Through no fault of IU whatsoever. We had a family emergency that made it clear that being far from home wasn’t a good decision for him at that time. He immediately started a CA community college and is getting ready to transfer as a Junior to a UC in the fall

Neither I nor my husband got the email but our daughter got in during EA? We also did not get a letter on merit scholarship on the day it was promised.

This is why we passed on PSU/SMEAL… all that OOS money to not know if you can truly go into your intended major path… not for us!

Where you leaning towards?

does anyone know when move in dates are for freshman?

Same for us with UVA. If getting into the business school was based simply on performance that would be encouraging but when they say they take a “holistic” approach it makes me apprehensive.
