My daughter received her acceptance letter on December 11th and a merit scholarship on December 23rd.
Daughter received DA to Kelley yesterday afternoon. OOS (Ohio). 3.98 UW; 4.39 weighted. Lots of extras. Best wishes to everyone. Let me just reiterate @jefrobertson - if you know you have the DA stats to Kelley, it appears you WILL get in. No rhyme or reason to order of it. Hang in there - I know itâs hard. Just 2 more days max for the DAs.
I feel like I am totally late to the party. Haha. I kept seeing everyone talk about Direct Admit to IUB and finally looked up the criteria. My son applied because they have a good Sports Management Program. Am I understanding correctly that the minimum DA requirement is a 1280 on the SAT and a 3.5-4.0 UW GPA? That will make me feel a lot better for his chances if thatâs the case.
My son is a sophmore in Kelley and my daughter was just accepted yesterday. My sonâs acceptance email included a merit award 2 yrs ago but my daughterâs acceptance is silent on that front. Does that mean she is not getting one or are they doing them separately now? Iâm not sure what the criteria is but she has a 4.4 GPA, 35 ACT, 11 aps, tons of community service, great ECs but i appreciate it can change year from year - wondering if anyone received their acceptence to IU Kelley DA and a mention of merit? The website does say she can apply for scholarships but that was separate from merit for my son. She also applied to Hutton if that makes a difference, nothing was mentioned about that yet. Appreciate any direct insight anyone can share, tia.
did the acceptance letter mention that she would be getting merit scholarship? or that just came separately? TIA
OOS IL Daughter was IU accepted 12/11 Pre-Biz then changed in portal DA Kelley 12/12. (ACT 32, APs, Honors, 3.9 unweighted, 4 yr Varsity). Her merit ($6K) was updated 12/23 in the portal. Still no paperwork via snail mail. I havenât had the delayed transcript or late posting dates others have shared. We did get a email scare from IU 11/24 that she did NOT make the Kelley criteria - when clearly had the DA stats. Then two hours later correction email saying that was sent in error.
Lots of anxiety and panic for no reason.
Thank you - Glad it all worked out for her!
Curious where you saw the merit update in the portal?
My sonâs merit letter came about two weeks after the acceptance. I think he got an email to check the portal.
Am I understanding correctly that the minimum DA requirement is a 1280 on the SAT and a 3.5-4.0 UW GPA?
No, that is not correct. Here are the requirements for DA:
- Earned the required test score:
- a composite ACT score of at least 30, or
- an SAT score of at least 1370 (Evidence-Based Reading & Writing and Math)*
- Earned a cumulative GPA of 3.8 on a 4.0 scale from a single high school. We will use the highest GPA that is sent to IU Admissions from your official high school transcript. If your high school calculates and provides a weighted GPA, the weighted GPA will be used to determine eligibility for direct admission.
This was the same for my son. He got an email to check the portal about 2 weeks after his acceptance. At that point it had information on merit. There was no indication he would get merit before then.
Same with my daughter, but the merit came even later. She was accepted on 12/13 and received notification she would receive merit (and the amount) on 1/7. No indication ahead of time, so that was a really nice surprise. I also have no idea how they figure out the merit amount, she has a 1460 SAT, 4.52 WGPA, 3.96 UW and received $10K/year.
God Seems to be testing my patience didnât hear anything yesterday as well. I am almost on the verge of breaking down despite having good Kelley DA credentials ( 1500+ SAT, 4/4 GPA, 16 APâs etc )âŠGod are you listening
Sorry. I should have specified that he is not applying to Kelley. He is a School of Public Health applicant. Iâm not sure if the rest of the university has different DA requirements than Kelley.
Very helpful - thank you!
That is Kelleyâs DA. Other schools
Have different requirements.
The only thing keeping us sane is that we know of 6 other kids from our OOS school that havenât heard yet either. All different majors, all 4.0+ kids, variety of SAT scores and test optional. Sitting on my hands so I donât harass our AO!
In the same boat. Not even sure the AO would tell us anything!
There was no mention of merit in her acceptance. It came separately.
Ok. GOD do exist. Could see school changed to âKelley School of Businessâ in the portal. I may get the status updated soon and email may also follow in a while
