My D25 will email now to ask about the EA decision being unavailable.
thanks please let us now
From my understanding everything should be submitted before 1st November to be considered early action. But I might be wrong. You can try calling admissions and they are very helpful by answering questions.
I am one of those families that still has āAwaiting Decisionā on the IU admission portal. I called AO this morning inquiring about the reasons why such a delay. The representative just took down my studentās university ID and said sheāll put in a request to add him to a decision group to determine whether he should have been considered for EA. What??? My student applied early October and all supplemental information was submitted by 10/16 so he definitely meets the 11/1 deadline! There were NO apologies about delayed decisions affecting many students at all. More of a bureaucratic brush-off to get me off the phone. I will check back with them next week to see whether this ādecision groupā request went anywhere. Truly deflated by the nonchalance that IU exhibited in their inability to provide decisions to all students who met the EA deadline. I encourage you to call them and post any updates so we can all support each other!
Doesnāt the studentās portal show they are an EA or RD applicant? Could the counselor materials (I guess just the official transcript) have missed the Nov 1 deadline?
Nope. Transcript was received 10/16. I also called Monday and that representative assured me that my studentās file is ācompleteā and that he should have a decision by 1/15.
Unlike other collegeās portal, NO indication of EA/RD applicant on the IU portal.
Thatās all so confusing. I hope you get it worked out. Maybe have your student contact their actual AO too and/or get the HS counselor involved?
D got an email that decisions will be released in batches Jan 15- Feb 15⦠Not worried, either way waiting for ED2 Feb 15 before making a final decision
Application on the portal shows complete and everything locked before end of Oct
OOS , pre businessā¦
Yep, he will be emailing his counselor about a decision but how can IU treat impacted applicants so callously???
OOS Pre-Business as well with this āawaiting decisionā status. It is just not right that IU cannot even own up to their issue with not completing all EA application assessment by 1/15. All those impacted also paid the application fee so why should we be second class citizens in receiving a decision by the deadline that they set. The AOās tone was one of weāll have to check your applicantās submissions to confirm that he is indeed in the EA group. What BS since I called on Monday and that AO confirmed that my applicantās file was complete and will have an answer by 1/15.
I hear you. Some colleges forget they are in the customer service business. Obviously they are really busy right now, but thatās no excuse. I would encourage your S to handle the rest of the communications directly with his specific AO. Many times the people answering the phone are not AOs, and in some cases are only students doing their work study job.
Hi guys , International student here . Just got a mail from AO saying that for all international students ea timeline has shifted and a decision would be available at any time between 15th jab to mid feb.
Hope it helps calm you down
Got the same but thatās no excuse. They should have given advance notice of this change.
"Thank you for your interest in Indiana University. The Office of International Services would like to inform you that we have adjusted the timeline for international early action applicants for the fall 2025 term. Notification for international early action applicants will begin January 15 and continue through mid-February.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time, and we will notify you as soon as decisions are available."
If you go to a restaurant and they tell you itās a 15 minute wait, and you are sitting there for 45, what do you do?
IU is supposed to give you a business education and they are showing you they canāt even run their own business.
Do you want to give them your money?
Iām the first to understand that the admissions department isnāt the school and I often wonder why itās not the best run department - since itās the sales arm of the school.
But if youāre that frustrated - there are many other choices.
You are lucky that international applicants at least received an update email with a new timeline. My applicant is domestic OOS and did not receive any update. When I called this morning, I was made to feel that my student may not even be part of the EA group eventhough I got confirmation on Monday that his application was complete (all documents submitted by 10/16, well before the 11/1 deadline) and he should have a decision by 1/15 just like all others. IU has managed this process poorly and we will certainly take this into account when it comes time to finalize our college choice. If they are this poor in recruiting students (the honeymoon phase as I call it), what would it be like once a student commits to IU?
Exactly!
Iāve seen International kids posting in other forums that they did get an IU decision, sooooooo.
When you saw this?Yesterday,today?
yesterday. look on IU reddit forum
