Daughter got $10K per year IU as DA to Kelley and $6250 at CU Boulder DA to Leeds. 30 ACT, 3.98 GPA UW; 4.4 W, focused ECs, job.

Back in the day mine got $9k.

But as an example at the top of my head, your student would have gotten $24k at Culverhouse. Thatā€™s pre published so you know in advance etc.

The others you wait and see.

Of course, merit in and of itself is simply a # because every school has different tuition.

Culverhouse is $33kish. Kelley $42kish. Leeds $44kish

So net tuition is beyond a merit #.

My daughter got her admission decision 1/14. Her scholarship letter came last night at 5 p.m.

Daughter got her notification by email and then the letter was on the portal where her admission letter was. She is in an in state student.

On the sliding scale of merit scholarships, the SEC/southern schools give the most to OOS students, whilst on the other hand public ivies like UMich and UVA give little to none (with some exceptions like Morehead Cain at UNC).

Schools like IU, UW Madison, Purdue, Washington, UIUC etc. are in the middle, and generally award only smaller amounts because OOS demand is so high (despite being state flagships, all sit at around ~50% out of state)

I think the issue is auto merit vs unknown merit.

Some you apply knowing your cost.

Others you apply and have no idea and you just hope.

For those with a budget they need an assured to hit budget - regardless of who they think is worthy or not.

That makes sense. My kids received great merit from Tenn, USC, Elon and other school. The 10k my OOS S25 received from IU is great relative to IU but pales to the SEC/southern schools. USC gives great merit. they also say ā€œat least $$kā€ so that is nice also.

Please check the portal if the school is listed as pre-business. Thatā€™s what it will be if Auto DA criteria isnā€™t metā€”which it wont for TO.

Yes- ACE in the past (perhaps present) is by invitation only freshman year. And assuming all goes well, those students typically slide into Kelley Honors track. ACE is a small percentage of the highest score/grade data freshman class.

Does anyone know if all ACE invitations have been sent out? Iā€™ve read about some people receiving them but the website says they will be sent out in early February.

Anyone on here an International student waiting to hear? I know the email we received told us to wait until mid-Feb for international applicants who applied EA, but I would love to know if any international student has heard back! My son is eager (mom too :slight_smile: Thanks in advance.
