indicating activites on apps

A lot of applications ask you whether or not you will be continuing that particular activity in college.
So this might be a silly question, but let’s say you’re part of the “High School Newspaper” publication… that club doesn’t exist in the college -you can’t continue it. How does that work?

*I’m guessing that they’re just looking to see if you’re interested in the overall field of journalism? Just to know if writing will be something you will pursue in college?
