Inexpensive Places To Buy Scrubs

D2 needs to purchase some scrubs as she starts her Med Professional Graduate Degree to use during labs. It’s not required but recommended. Wont be used in official health care settings but in her labs twice a week - so wash and wear - or wear and wash.

One place recommended to look was WalMart - we will try that this week while she is home. Just wondered if there was a source she hadn’t fallen upon yet that we aren’t thinking about. We could also try local Goodwills or something but not sure if they will stock an item like scrubs.

Amazon is where my vet niece got her size XXL scrubs. Some were hilarious.

I believe I’ve seen scrubs at Target & CVS. They’re also online—Amazon and many other sites. I would suspect thrift shops would carry them as well.

Our goodwill will sometimes have scrubs. Worth checking.

Staples has them…as does Overstock…

Uniform stores will sell every company and color known, from inexpensive to more expensive. Once I know what brand and size I like, I order from their online catalog as it is usually cheaper than the local stores. Amazon usually will also be cheaper.

My Medical Assistant was always able to find hers at a local consignment shop near the hospital.

I wore scrubs for 28 years and I wouldn’t bother with the cheap cotton ones from Walmart, etc. They generally require ironing after each wash. I love WonderWinks. You can find them for less than $50. Wash and wear. No iron. Always look “polished”. I wore some for more than 10 years and they still looked new. I just gave more than a dozen to my SIL. I’ll miss my scrubs, so easy to get ready for work every morning. Take the first one from the stack. After washing add to the bottom of the stack and so on and so on.

These initial ones are just the ones she will use for anatomy lab. She will use them twice a week minimum and is told she will probably want to dispose of them once lab is done cause even washed…well, yikes!!!

We/she will check some thrift stores while she is home for a bit. And Walmart for sizing/options. I’ll also pass on the websites listed above!

I now use Amazon to buy for my staff, mostly because of Prime and free return. Many of the uniform sites charge a re-stocking fee. I generally buy Landau and Cherokee, quality brands that hold up to multiple washings. A dark color will work best because stains won’t show.

Goodwill will have scrubs, but probably not what a young woman would wear (mostly prints and “old lady” in my area).

I’ve purchased them at Savers, which is like a Goodwill or Salvation Army store.

Cherokee is my niece’s favorite brand. They do last.

Ebay?

I second Cherokee!

@toledo, we don’t have Savers anymore!!

She bought one pair at WalMart yesterday - hates them but, scrubs. They are not the stiff cotton kind they have a little stretch - she said they were comfortable and the v-neck was less deep which she preferred. We were able to get one half of them marked down so not too bad priced. She will check out Goodwill this week for a second pair - or if she hits the jackpot, she’ll take the WalMart ones back.

My Goodwill has a big section for scrubs, though they’re sometimes mixed in with the other shirts too. My experience is that shopping Goodwill takes a lot of time but you can find amazing things if you’re patient.

our Assistance League has some. Sometimes I see new ones.

I chose to work as a per diem pharmacist after I retired and both hospitals allow scrubs. I love FIGS and they are 20% off right now. Wash well, look great, not cheap but at 20% off she will look amazing and feel comfortable.

Well, the WalMart scrubs are happily going back. We went to a used women’s clothing shop and a Goodwill today and she got two scrub pants and three tops for a total of $18. Less than one top or pant at WalMart - AND she actually says they feel much better than the Walmart ones. She was thrilled and so was my credit card.

So anyone else needing nearly disposable scrubs (for anatomy lab only), go to your local Goodwill!

@abasket well sure glad that worked out!

As long as she doesn’t need a particular type or color, I have always seen scrubs in my local Goodwill. If you have a Style Encore nearby (women’s resale store) they also have a ton.

If she’s going to throw them out after wearing each time, wouldn’t something paper be better?
