is there a dry cleaning service on campus or one that delivers to dorms? costs?

best dorm? possible to get singles for 1st years? i’m really bad with sharing space
what about bathroom facilities?

are the people at the pool nice? i’m a relatively good swimmer but when i went to the stanford pool, people were really competitive with each other when it’s simply a relaxing work out. maybe i went on a bad day but i prefer a more casual atmosphere

not sure, the dorm laundry rooms are typically far away which is obnoxious but you can use your id card as a debit card so you don’t have to worry about quarters at least.

best dorm depends on what traits you are looking for, plus you don’t really have an option over “first year dorms” vs residential colleges. if you want a single then just request one you can get one. bathrooms depend on your dorm - first year dorms have shared bathroom 10-30 people, res colleges well some have 10-20 people bathrooms and some have 4-8 people bathrooms.

my friend likes to go swimming and never complained about people being competitive but i’ve never been so i don’t know. my guess is that if it’s free swim time then it is truly that. there are set blocks of time when you can go for different purposes i believe (that is typical right).

Not sure about dry cleaning, but I am sure there should be some close by.

You’d probably want a single or a dorm like Brown where you have your own room and a roommate. Bathrooms would be shared between 4-8 people depending on the room you get.

Swimming facilities are outstanding and state-of-the-art. They are the nicest pools I’ve seen of all colleges. Locker rooms are so nice and there is also a sauna and huge hotub next to the main pool. The pool is huge and very clean.
