Instead of a "tiny house" look at how a tiny apt was transformed.

This is the true definition of minimalist living. A minuscule apartment, simple and functional apartment and maybe one of the tiniest apartments in Paris; is only 8 square meters.

On the seventh floor of an apartment living in Paris, this apartment is complete with bed, kitchen, bathroom, table, chairs, closet and storage space. Originally a maid’s room, Kitoko Architecture Firms transformed this studio space for a client’s au pair using the “concept of the swiss army knife”.

I saw that on one of my tiny house emails I get daily, nice but not movable.

And the grey colour gives it that certain “je ne cell pas” feeling.

It’s very compact and cute. I’m not sure I’d ever want to shut all the openings when I went to sleep on the futon too confined! If you leave at least some of it open it’s OK. I’m not sure how long I’d like to live in something so compact. There’s no room for even a dresser. If you don’t have many possessions, it is a cool compact quarters.

It would make for a great pied a terre!

Ok, that’s super cool. I could NEVER sleep in that bed with the sliding door closed, but yes, with it open. It would be great for a student or a vacation “home”/rental. The only thing missing for me - a love seat for a comfortable place to sit with at least one other person - heck, if you can fit the love seat and the person is short then you can even have an overnight guest!!!

Maybe you could keep a futon or bedroll rolled up into one of those tiny closet/storage areas…?

i LOVE tiny homes…I was dreaming over these videos earlier… http://www.mnn.com/your-home/remodeling-design/stories/7-tiny-homes-that-celebrate-simple-living

Cool video. But honestly, I’d prefer the layout of an average college dorm single, which is often even smaller (but with no bathroom). Having an open lofted bed with storage beneath, across from closet/ desk seems more spacious.

lol…too funny!

Well, another color scheme would be much better. I think a nice easy chair/recliner with a side table would be nice. Don’t know if it would fit.

True! There are easy chairs that turn into a single bed…bit a love seat convertible might be better.

For those of us who don’t want kids “returning home” to live, maybe we can do this to a small room for temporary stays! lol

oops, we turned your bedroom into a sewing room, but look what we did with this closet…just for you! lol

LOL Mom2College!

It leaves me totally cold. The only soft surface is up in the loft. Reminds me of a sleeping compartment on a train.

Like many on this forum, I really like HGTV’s House Hunters International. This tiny apt. reminded me of one Parisian place that was so tiny, the (very tall) American woman couldn’t fit her knees in the bathroom as she sat on the toilet. Tiny place for tiny people, it seems.

I actually thought the bathroom was roomy in this apt (compared to the other space - and quite nice looking!

Got an “oops” message and no video available.

The article is getting a lot of views. Try again, wis75.

The little apartment is amazing. I loved it.

I thought it was clever but completely impractical. There is no comfortable seating, only the backless stools. The bed would not be comfortable, either, without a mattress.

It made me think of the yotel (not a typo thank you autocorrect) i stayed in a couple of times at Heathrow when I had early flights.
