Public Unis set quotas on the amount of intels they can take. I was wondering if whether or not this applied to private universities as well. I’m planning on going to a CCC and then transferring from there. Would my chances as an intel improve or stay the same? Is residency an issue for private unis?

If by residency you mean permanent residency (green card) it is certainly an issue if you need financial aid. There is much more financial aid available for permanent residents than for non-residents - I think you are eligible for Federal grants and subsidized loans.

transferring is very very very hard for internationals. I don’t think your chance as an intel will improve. It would probably go down…
International acceptance for regular decision in MIT (last last year) was like 7-9%… so transfers would have lesser of a chance.

And there are quotas in some privates - but it’s not strictly enforced
