International degree compatibility

Hi

I have to decide between doing a bs econ in america or a bcom law in south africa. the south african degree is much cheaper. I eventually want to leave south africa. Will my south african degree be accepted by institutions and employers in america?

It’ll be accepted by employers, but unlikely employable–unless you transfer offices within whatever firm your at.

Honestly, I would study in America. Remember, it’s not only about the quality of the education but also the networking at universities (a.k.a. Connections). Since you plan to move out of Africa anyway, getting a U.S. degree might be better as certain firms recruit at certain universities and you may even be getting job offers before you graduate if you study in America. I don’t know much about the African system though, so you can weigh it against the information I have given.
