Does applying to schools like HADES from an international school help or hinder you? Or does it not really matter?

Helps.

Schools where our kids interviewed were consistently intrigued by the prospect of having someone with an “informed global perspective” in the classroom–even if you aren’t commonly mistaken for Kissinger or Disraeli as a result of your experiences.

Absolutely helps to have an international background. Even helps to be from an uncommon state.
