If this screen name is your real name…you need to change it asap.

These colleges are huge reaches for all students and even bigger reaches for international students.

NYU is need aware which means your level of need will be considered when your application is considered.

I hope you have some sure things for affordability and acceptance on your list. None of these colleges are sure things

Agree all of the colleges on your list are huge reaches. By all means apply and give it your best shot – but also seek out affordable options in your home country.

yes they are my reach universities, but also I only consider them in US. Because it’s not worth for me to go there and study in a mid college you know…

The choice is yours. Either apply to other colleges that are more known to give full rides to international students or stay in your country.

My kids are happily succeeding at their mid colleges here in the USA.

Your strategy is fine as long as you have affordable options in your home country that you would be excited to attend. FWIW there are many outstanding universities in the US beyond the super selective ones you mentioned.

But I understand the OP’s perspective, if they are planning to go back home, there is little point having spent so much for a name that is not recognized back home. In the country I come from, I knew someone that (I think had gone on a full ride or close to scholarship, possibly from an external source) to Case Western. Anyone on these boards knows that college, but no one back home knew it (it was the first time I’d heard of it, for example). People would literally say things like, “where? Why didn’t you just go to X or Y” (the top 2 local universities in my country)

I totally understand. If going to college in the US will not allow him to get a job or work, that must be considered.
