Good Luck! You can post now your stats and then edit it with accepted or rejected, thanks!

You mean this thread strictly for internationals? Then you’d better add “TOEFL” as one of the item as well :)

And why not add “Received notification of decision date?”, just in case there really is some kind of a MIT conspiracy :D

in.
will post after i get my rejection.
really not looking good… did not receive email

Do we really need a topic like this?

At least it does no harm, right?

Okay, I will post mine info after I know my result.

Do You guys really think E-mail notification shows if accepted or not?

Well, I just think there was a “class of 2014” thread already, but it’s harmless anyway
And I don’t think email notification has any stuff to do with admission decision

Ok I have updated…
Maybe This thread is important for all INT.Students, because There are not statistics or profile about International undergraduate Students admitted. Thanks

Good luck to all of you!

I think that it is particularly challenging to get value here, as it is so hard to compare different school systems and/or tests. For example, if the student has taken A-levels, have they taken Cambridge A-levels, Hong-Kong A-levels, Nigerian A-levels, or what. Similarly if they have an abitur, is it a German abitur or Finnish one as they are different again. In a lot of countries, there is no such thing as organised EC’s apart from sport. Rank doesn’t exist in many countries, and some awards mean very different things for internationals. For example there are schools where one third of the graduating class leaves as a prefect. There are others where there is one prefect per thousand students.

A summary chart for Americans makes sense. With limited exceptions these all follow broadly the same course of study. Even the exceptions, such as home-schooled students, tend to work from many of the same textbooks and similar curricula as the other students. With internationals, I just think that it is simply too difficult to compare apples with oranges. The ONLY things that all the internationals have in common are the SATII tests.

agree with Mikalye but I think it won’t be a bad idea to post our results( anyway I won’t post if I get rejected hoho  ) this thread can be helpful to later international applicants.

PS: I guess MIT has the most international applicants than any other top 20 school has.

WAITING FOR RESULTS AHHH WILL EDIT WHEN IGET IT.

Thanks for creating this! I’ve always wondered how being international really affects admission chances. I’ll post on here once I hear back… Oh but just to let you know in advance, I didn’t take the TOEFL, considering how I live in England, which was kind of the home of the English language :P

By the way, is it true that if you’re an international student you have to have higher SAT scores than domestic students if you want to have a true shot at acceptance?

SAT I is not required, there are two options, probably SAT II is important, but I think that EC’s are also very foundamental, they don’t want nerdy persons.

@5up3rG: For MIT are you considered International Student?

@edoardo: Sadly, I’m a nerd, with no sports, no music, but only MATH!

@ edoardo: yes… why?

^kenhung
You mean you don’t even PLAY anything?

Hey, just for the record, you can’t get deferred now.
