International undergraduate Students RD results 2014

lol… oh yeah. only acceptance or rejection… doesnt that suck?

Hahah OR WAIT LIST!

But honestly, after being deferred EA, I’m kinda glad that isn’t an option. I mean, it was a longggg few months.

@baolong26_12: Well… A list of my ECs: Math Olympiad and Physics Olympiad.

But physics = math = physics, so ya, Math Olympiad only.

Plus, math can be a good form of entertainment. :)

Really? I doubt that (to me at least) ^^

I guess I’ll post my stats now too, and update on Sunday (Monday for me) when I get rejected.

Hey arbitraryname,

I think your stats look not bad! much better than mine. and I dare not to post mine here. Come on ! don’t feel so distressed. though the 3% (or even less) admission rate looks really horrible, I guess you really get a chance! :)

@arbitraryname your test scores are great. How did you take SAT? If i am right, I heard SAT is unavailable in China. I think there are lots of outstanding chinese students, so it is difficult to get into MIT for Chinese, isn’t it?

they took SATs and APs in Hong Kong, babo.

SAT in Hong Kong, definitely. I couldn’t even hear a single Cantonese word at the exam center, instead, it’s Putonghua everywhere.

@kenhungkk: IMO gold medal ?

@edoardo: No, just a silver one.

i wish i continued my math in the olympiad direction… ive only excelled in local (singapore) competitions… but didnt move through the ranks for IMO ):

I have done 4 Olympiads (computer science, math, physics) at school…but this summer I must study to pass local selection…

Now I’m making my way to my second IMO and my first IPhO! In fact, this is what I’ve been doing to pass time.

Actually my knowledge in Physic is quit low, I started it 6 months ago and my teacher is very low (this summer maybe I will study all the program of the three years by myself)…for you studying for SAT II Physic will help me for Physic Olympiad?
I should improve my programming skill to pass computer science selection… .-.

i’m from southeast europe. Not much chance. My school was founded in 2005 so, too much teacher shifting and that stuff. Still not looking like a real high school. Got 670 and 730 sat II and 100 toefl.

@dawncoming & babo90: thanks for the words of encouragement haha. Yeah, the SAT is unavailable in most of mainland China, but because I attend an international school that is actually an SAT test center, I was able to take it easily. Those who aren’t as fortunate, or who want to take it during January for example (my school doesn’t offer it in January) do have to fly to Hong Kong or elsewhere to take them.

14 minutes left! Any international waiting decision?

got a flat rejection.

hmmm. anyway I’ve got Caltech already. Let MIT regret that they don’t take me!

Oh no. I really hope it’s not my stats that are bringing me down. I hope it’s the international part that they rejected me… But 1920 SAT, 740, 780 Math II Physics? Oh god… I’m so depressed now…
