Hi Emp,

The on-campus interview and official visit are much more important for (and almost expected of) those within a reasonable driving distance to campus.

For those far from campus, our alumni off-campus interviews are a great way to demonstrate interest and learn more about what the College has to offer. You won’t know if there are alumni admissions representatives in your area until after you apply – no additional effort is required on your part to initiate the process. The portion of our Admissions website you may be referring to (see: [Admissions Off-Campus Interviews](http://lafayette.edu/admissions/offcampusi.html)) is a travel interview schedule for our admissions officers only.

There is a concentration of alums in Florida, so don’t count yourself out just yet. If an off-campus interview is not possible, you will not be penalized in any way.

Sidenote: are you still thinking of applying ED to JHU despite your financial concerns?
