I’m having the height conscious thing too. My pediatrician told me when I was 6, that I’d grow to around 6’3’‘-4. An orthopedic surgeon later told me I was done growing at 5’7’’ and now I’m 5’10’’ and wondering if that’s tall, medium, or short for a sophomore and what people think of it. Also, if my mom is 5’4’’ and my dad is 6’0’‘, and I have many relatives over 6’0’’ including a 6’4’’ grandpa and a 6’5’’ uncle, how tall should I be by the time I’m done growing?

no one is going to answer this becuase it is a stupid question, none of us have MD’s so we dont know the answer to this question,

I didn’t ask for an MD analysis. I’m asking if 5’10’’ is tall enough for a sophomore. Next time you reply to one of my threads, do you mind leaving the attitude out of it.

Haha, I guess I kind of agree that it is a stupid question. How exactly do you define “tall enough”? 5 feet is tall enough, 5’6’’ is tall enough, 6’0’’ is tall enough, etc.

Ummm… well. Next time you’re at school, look around. Are you taller, shorter, or the same height as most of your peers?

There’s your answer.

… why does it matter. 5’10’’ is good… i myself am about 5’9 and a half, way i see it, as long as ur not a midget, u should be grateful

my 2 cents

its not a dumb question, a lot of guys worry about height. if you never grow taller than 5’10, that’s still about average for an adult. but you’re probably not done growing. i was 5’8 as a sophmore and now i’m 6’1 as a freshman in college

How tall we’re your parents?

If we have near the same height parents, then that means 6’3’’ is still a possibility. But all I want is 6’0’’ really.

… looks like genetics are in your favor… i think that you’ll get there (maybe even higher!) i mean, some people burst really late (i’m hoping i will, but prolly not, genetics AND appetite are not in my favor)

my doctor told me i would grow to be 5’6’’ (i am male by the way) In 8th grade i was 5’8’’ and was pretty excited. Now being a senior i am still 5’8’’ (i might have grown like a half inch since then) You never can tell. hiehgt is all relative so its however you feel about your height not how others tell tehy feel about it.

I’m going to be 20 in a few months and I’m 5`5. It does kinda suck being that short, especially as a guy, but I don’t think I’ve ever had the thought that there was something wrong with it, I’m short, it’s as simple as that.

I’ll have a good outlook on myself no matter what my height is. It doesn’t matter that much. But I was just kinda set on being tall since that’s been the prediction most of my life ya know. Nobody ever told me I’d be 5 something. They all said 6’0"+.

5’10’’ is probably above average for a sophomore.

sweet…

5’10" is it okay? Well i guess you would have to ask other 5’10" people out there…that is above average for height for males in the US…but are you on your way to 6 foot plus? No one can answer that.

Quit asking dorky questions, it’ll stunt your growth.

Dude - I think the bigger picture here is that you are worried about your height - don’t worry about it. I’m 5’6" as a senior male and I don’t mind. I would like to be taller and I may still be growing, but what you gonna do? 5’10" is fine.

I’m between 5’11" and 6’, and I’m a sophomore, and when I was a baby, the doctor said I’d grow to be at least 6’3"…There’s plenty of time left to grow…The average male can grow until the age of 22, although one is typically at his or her maximum height at about 18…

I’m a girl and I’m 5’4. I’m not growing anymore. My older sister is 4 inches taller than me, my little brother is already taller than me, and my little sister is on her way most likely. Am I short? Average? I don’t know

I think it depends on where you live. I’m 5’1 and in atlanta I was a shrimp but in san antonio I am pretty average.

wow san antonio must be a city of pretty short people then lol :p
