What I want to ask is that is there a difference between a 760 and a 800 when it comes to evaluate the mathematics…?? I am currently earning a 100% in math 12 hon class…should i retake since the score is below the school mark???

there might or might not be… u shud focus on improvin ur other subjects n ecs n all [if u need to] as 800 on math but no so gd of other stuff wont really help… but if u really want to, then go ahead as when comparin 2 similar applicants it might matter

760 IC is much more impressive than 760 IIC if you can get a 760 math IC then a 760 2c is fine…as long as all you math/science sat 2s are over 750 and all others are over 700 you should be fine

I got a 800 for Maths IIC as well as a 800 for Chem but Cornell rejected me… Oh well…

i got into Cornell Engineering with 780 math 2c so i think it is fine

Well, as long as other parts of your application are fine, I guess. Remember, 10% of the kids that take the Math IIc get 800’s. Opposed to like 1-2% in the Math Ic. So you probably need to max out. I think a 760 would be something like 75-80 percentile?

Not to be harsh…but you might want to consider retaking it if you still have time. First of all…like someone mentioned before around 10% of kids get 800s…so a 760 is not too impressive. Also, considering you are applying for Engineering AND at a IVY league college, that makes the 760 even less impressive. Most engineering kids score really high on math SATII. Furthermore…considering this is the international thread…I’d assume that you are applying as an international student? That means you need to have much better scores than domestic students. I would try again…just to better your chances.
