Well… you ARE above Yale’s average SAT score… it really matters by what else you got besides the SAT score. People just don’t get deferred/rejected (yes, even from Yale) because of an SAT score in the 2200-2300 range…

hey…it better be pretty good because I got deferred with a 2200 (740 CR, 780 M, 680 W)…^_^

ok, dont bash me for asking this, but is a 2180 (760M, 730 WR - 12E, 690CR) bad for an int’l?

anyting lower than a perfect is bad for intl

ok enough of the sarcasm please. I was just interested in knowing…if you dont have anything constructive to add, just dont say anything

If you don’t have anything constructive to say or ask when you post up a thread… then don’t post it up? 2270? You’re obviously just looking for reassurance. If you get rejected, my friend, don’t blame it on your SAT score.

callthecops2, um, I’m not sure how to say it, but hereiam wasn’t being sarcastic. The international pool is extremely competative. That’s not to say you’re automatically out for a 2180, but it does mean that you will have to conquer the pool with other attributes. I’ve always heard and read that someone has to be twice as fantastic as a US student to get into a top college from another country, and it’s hard enough for us.

i got in with a 1790. So I think SATS dont matter THAT much. You guys make a BIG deal out of SATS for nothing. You guys are sad…sad…Sad… lmao…I got into Cornell and NYU with the same scores. Its how you present yourself.

if you have a higher sat, you’ll still have an easier time applying, meaning you dont have to do such a great job “presenting yourself” to get in

haha jokr95- we’re sad for worrying about the SAT? the SAT’s are a pretty big deal. it’s proven simply by the SAT averages of schools like yale and even by how scholarships to certain scorers are awarded. for example, at baylor university, they hand out scholarships simply according to your SAT score.

you’re one of a rather select group who get in to schools like yale with a 1790.

I was rejected EA with a 2330. So to answer your question: no. It’s not good enough.

haha. look, if they want you, you’ll get in. but it won’t be on some “his SATs were too low for us.” They reject a lot of people. I know just as many ppl who got in with a 2000 as ppl who got rejected with 2300s. I’m not even exxagerating. SATs is only a PART of the decision.

I think we can all agree that SAT scores are no clear-cut indicator of whether or not you’ll be admitted. I read someplace that Harvard rejects 2 out of 3 applicants who have a perfect score. If you’re rejected with a 2300 then you must be lacking in other areas of your application; if you’re admitted with a 1700 then there must be something really special about you that’s not accurately represented in your score.

Yeah, being an international really sucks. Though I think hereiam is still being sarcastic, heh. My roommate had perfect SAT II scores. He’s in Brown now.

i got deferred with a 2030 …

I have 2260 but rejected outright in EA. I was told it was my race.

And who told you that, icedkiwis?

ok as for the international thing, my friend got in early and she barely had 2000 but was an amazing students with a great essay and many ec’s with leadership position…sat aren’t the most important thing for us, they know we’re not used to that sort of testing so callthecops2 don’t worry…your SATs are more than fine…

How many ECs is considered good? How about 3 with leadership and 2 without?

i think SAT scores dont really function as a cut-off list or a threshhold unless they are of course miserably low
