Is a 2270 SAT good enough?

and now we must define where “miserably low” is.

It’s relative to your ECs.

How about a 2100? Is that too low? (The lowest I know was a 2170-He was Val, State Pres of something, the perfect leader, and a fantastic athlete. That is tough competition!)

My friend got in with a 2240, and another friend got rejected with a 2240

why r u so worried about SATs? There are other things u wanna worry about, like convincing the uni that u really wanna b there and why u think ure a good match for the uni. I mean, r u so oblivious to what’s happening every single year at every single uni to not notice that SAT’s are just not the only part of ur application? THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER IMPORTANT STUFF to worry about, and besides, a 2270 is high enough a score for any uni that anybody who thinks he was rejected because such a score put him at a disadvantage is obviously disillusioned.
No offence given.

Uni? Whoa, British slang :)

I definately got in with a 2180! Although SAT’s are an important factor in admissions, they are not the ONLY factor. I believe admissions officers truly look at the total package including grades, ESSAYS, life circumstances, ec’s and personality. I don’t believe my chances would’ve been much worse with a 1950 or much better with a 2400…but that’s just my opnion.

GOOD LUCK RDers!

@ TKM- actually, Nigerian slang :)

I got in with a 2030. Stop worrying about SAT’s, they really don’t matter. What matters is your scholastic record, and your relationships with teachers, as well as your depth of person. If you’re applying to Yale, chances are you have something to offer other than scores. Show the admissions comittee that you are above and beyond your scores.

I second that, rico06

Yea…i know i’m rejected but then again Yale accepts the Taliban so go figure…quite frankly, I know many have been wanting Yale all their life, (i’m not one but that’s besides the point) I really don’t care if I get in or not, because if any other ivy doesn’t accept me, I’ve been accepted by NYU Stern school of Business…a top 5 undergrad program according to US News and World…so…good luck to everyone else…in fact…I may not even check online…just wait for my rejection.

whoever posted this thread is so obnoxious

To the contrary, I find one of the Yale admission officers rather obnoxious - completely the opposite how NYU treats applicants.

whoever started this thread will most likely be rejected

i got a 2110…i don’t think i’ll get in but if i somehow do it’ll definitely be because i’m going for music…so i have no hope unless if they somehow think i’m a music prodigy. no use getting hopes up.

I got 1890… and I applied.

I was somewhere between the 2110 and 1890 of the last two posts :)
