Is ASB worth a class period?

I’m planning on having 8 classes next year, two of which are online. The majority are AP classes. I want to join ASB, but it’s only available as a class period during school. To colleges, would this look more like a teacher’s assistant position (lazy kids) or more committed, since I’d then have 9 classes? ASB would not replace any period, I would just have to find an online option for that which was filled by ASB. I would likely become VP or president.

I think its worth it colleges like to see leadership

Are you passionate about it?

If you actually want to do it and have a desire to improve the school and plan student activities then yes. But if you’re only doing it for college apps then you probably won’t enjoy it.
And if you’ve never done ASB before, I doubt you will have a leadership position your first year
