Hey, im a rising senior
and im having a realll hard time deciding my early decision.
Im thinking about Carnegie right now
but im wondering if its really worth it

Hows ur life, girls, academics, food,ETC and all that crap at carnegie?
thanks

please answer only if u are attending or have attended Carnegie

I’m a new freshman, and so far everything seems top-notch. The girls aren’t anywhere near as bad as people say they are, the food system has been completely redone to the point where I really enjoy the food, and CMU’s academics are obviously of high quality (otherwise they’re torturing us for nothing).

im assuming ur getting tons of works to do? how much of a free time do u have?

oh and what about the environment? ive never visited carnegie cus its so far away. is there alot of places to hang out? thx

honestly, the worst thing about Carnegie Mel is the price-tag.

And if you ED, they’re much more lenient with financial aid.

So I say…so for it? I would’ve gone, if it wasn’t for the price :/

CMU is in the middle of Pittsburgh. It really is a college town, across the street from University of Pittsburgh. The town really caters to college students. Lots of cheap places to eat and hang out and such.

p.s. I know I don’t go to CMU but I had to reply anyway lol. it’s a REALLY good school! visit first tho? if possible.

I see i guess the environment is great but my concern is about the workload.
i dont mind working my ass off cus ive always been a hard worker but i really do care about life outside academics.

As a new freshman, I can honestly say I had my doubts when applying - but I’ve been really happy here so far. Everyone’s exceedingly smart and friendly, it’s right on Forbes avenue, all things in Pittsburgh are just a ten minute bus ride away, and the food is great since it was upgraded to a new vendor this year. All the professors are highly committed in my experience-- I haven’t had a single class taught by a TA yet or heard of anyone who has. And even though I’m a freshman, all but two of my classes are very small, 25 students or less. It’s really easy to make friends. :)
