I note from Wikipedia that the CMU campus is pretty small. Then, will life at CMU be bored?

Small school in a big city, besides, it’s just smaller than the universities that ranked around CMU, bigger than most of the liberal arts colleges

I wonder whether life in such a small campus makes one bored…

The Carnegie Museum and Phipps Conservatory are within walking distance as are many shops and restaurants. You can go all over on the city buses.

There’s also always stuff going on being sponsored by various groups all over campus. It’s actually a bit easier to find things to do since you’re much more likely to randomly bump into something to do than in huge campuses which are spread over 3-4 times the space.

Yeah, we accidentally ran into the Pie A Professor event a couple weeks ago. Watching my history professor get literally creamed was the highlight of my day. I’d say there’s plenty to do on campus, and it’s very accessible-- our Activities Board is really active. Movies for $1 every weekend!

completely kate: what kind of movies?

Ah, I saw the Hangover (3rd time then) when I visited. I think it’s movies that are out of the screen but not on DVD yet.

Oh yeah, but when I visited the campus didn’t seem small at all, but then we kept getting lost. I did keep running into stuff though, pancakes at 1 at night sold by a frat, people guarding the fence, jugglers, some jazz playing billy jean, a NSBE party. Though we ending up going into Pittsburgh that night, the city seemed really cool, I loved all the bridges.

Take a look at this link. It has the calendar of films for this year.

[AB Films List 2009-2010](http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=vrl1upvmfcku4mdvq5h1bpv9jc%40group.calendar.google.com&ctz=America/New_York)

Also. I don’t know if some of you are easily offended by explicit content, so if you are, I apologize in advance. But every semester, the last movie of the semester is just titled as ‘TBA’ on the roster.

In actuality, AB finds the raunchiest, most hilarious pornographic film they can find and they air it. Hundreds of people attend and everyone laughs at the awkward pickup lines and horribly choreographed sex. (We’re talking titles like “World of Whorecraft” and “Pirate’s Booty” and “Nailin’ Palin”.

it’s awesome.

I remember two of the movies when I was there were exceptionally well known. One was granny porn. The other was Pirates which is also known as the most expensive porn ever made. It was a spoof off of Pirates of the Caribbean, complete with CGI ghosts and, umm, candlesticks. The local news actually came out to cover it as a story. One of my good friends was interviews and they used him on the news. Except they cut his statement up and put it back in an order such that it sounded like he thought everyone should go watch porn now. Best part was he was religious and was strongly against the school showing the movie!

Also, unless things have changed with new technology, they actually use a film projector and don’t just hook up someone’s laptop to a digital projector with the latest cam they torrented that afternoon.

Nope, it’s still a projector. Projector porn is super classy.
