is cornell or brown more selective??

i’ve heard it both ways

BTW, im doing engineering (for now lol)

In terms of overall acceptance rate, Brown is more selective. Probably due to Cornell’s large undergraduate size. However if you’re looking into Engineering Cornell is probably the best in that area in the Ivy League.

I think Brown is more selective, but Cornell is loads more fun. That is the first gramatically correct sentence I think I have typed out on College Confidential.

Cornell’s selectivity is also hurt because some of the colleges (I think Ag and ILR for example) recieve state funding, which means they have to accept certain numbers of New York staters.

End point: Cornell engineering ROCKS, DANCES and CRADLES while other ivies just manage to sway a few millimetres in a Tsunami or Cyclone…Period

lol good analogy Arjun

Cornell Engineering is far surperior to Brown Engineering, so the point is moot. But in terms of selectivity, they are about the same. Class ranks, mean SAT scores, SAT ranges, graduating GPAs etc… are practically identical at those two schools.

Bah, You should never consider subjecting yourself to four years in Rhode Island when you could be in Heaven (read: Ithaca, NY).

its not the same selectivity, brown is way harder to get into
