Is everyone here really this liberal?

oh… and this

makes you a saint.

Hmm…I took a lifetime vow never to buy Charmin because of their Mr. Whipple advertising campaign.

I buy Marcal because it is made from recycled paper but they don’t charge a premium for it.

Talking about toilet paper, the true blue (actually green) liberals would never use it. Not trying to deteriorate this thread, mind you ;-)

we used unbleached & recycled toilet tissue
[The Green Toilet: So Why Is Toilet Paper White Anyway?](The Green Toilet: So Why Is Toilet Paper White Anyway?)

Negative videos can be made against any given candidate. It’s part of the season.

Given the personalities of McCain and Obama, I’m naively looking forward to a relatively polite campaign based primarily on issues where they have clear differences of opinion. They can each say “Here we are, America, you choose.”

If not toilet paper, what do the “true green” use? Handiwipes? And please, is it toilet paper made from “recycled paper” or is it “recycled toilet paper” If it’s the latter, I am definitely a conservative

What’s wrong with Mr. Whipple?

I guess if we had room in our bathroom we could get a bidet.

But I would rather have storage.

How did we end up in a conversation about drip drying?

Why do the salve directions never say “Apply conservatively.”?

What, no blow dryers?!

vossron-
Thats an easy one. I think it’s because conservatives are already anal :D

^^^ Or were you not referring to hemmorhoid cream, vossron?

gosh - I thought the thread was just getting good and that some of you put us off the juicy stuff and onto toilet paper. What better way to noodle through what defines and conservative vs. liberal than abortion, death penalty, etc?

Obama and McCain both scare me equally when it comes to Iraq and foreign policy in general. Hillary makes me feel safest, even though it’s tough to listen to her speak for more than a minute. Is it really over for her? I’ve never been a huge fan but I DID vote twice for her husband and I’m beginning to think she is our best bet. If it’s between Obama and McCain . . . I may have to sit this one out. First time in my life.

And am I the only one out there who is sick of the Obama corronation taking place relentlessly in the media? The NY Times on Sunday was just absurd with their photo layout in the commentary section trying to make this all another Camelot. Maybe the O really is the second coming - I just hate feeling herded around like a mindless cow by the media.

Ewwwwwwwwww! Now, THIS is an interesting turn of discussion!

mammal-
Please see posts 112, 116,117. This thread isn’t a thread to debate political stuff, it is a thread to see what beliefs, ideals, positions we feel “label” us (or how we label ourselves) as liberal, moderate, conservative, etc. The political or social issues themselves (other than choosing toilet paper, of course) really belongs in its own separate thread. JMO.

^^ Gee, I leave a thread for a day or two and look how it deteriorates. :)

On the subject, I’ve got to say that although there are posters from both sides here, as a conservative, my perception is that there are more liberals here than conservatives - the OP’s point. I’m wondering though if liberals have the opposite perception - that there are more conservatives than liberals when they’re reading the same threads? Maybe it’s just a perception due to the emotions caused by reading the posts from the opposite POV.

LOL historyman (re post 127).

True greeners use leaves… careful not to use poison ivy or poison oak (see previous post about salves…)

ucsducladad-
Agree that it is a bit skewed by perception. Seems to me that there are a lot of conservatives here. Not sure if it is truly a lot, or if there are just several, rather vociforous posters. Sometimes in the political threads, the same posters come out to play (round up the usual suspects, as they say). Not me… I steer clear of them, for the mostpart. I do have to wonder, though, if political stuff gets discussed in any of the college threads, or HS life, or elsewhere that I do not frequent. I think we are looking at a limited sampling. If anyone is willing to check this out in the cc cafe and report back, that’d be great. Its a scary place down there. Put on your raincoat before you venture down there…

True greeners use leaves… careful not to use poison ivy or poison oak (see previous post about salves…)

if you used leaves, you then couldn’t use the leaf for composting because the typical household compost pile is not going to get hot enough to kill all sorts of organisms you don’t want on your plants/in your yard. ( which is why bovine manure is the best- it’s all those stomachs)

I’ll stick with T.P.

( although I do hear that those with bidets absolutely love them)

(Yes I know you were TIC, but as a dyspraxic , my first interpretation is strictly literal  )
