Is it bad that I'm taking AQR?

I’m currently a High School Senior and I’m taking AQR. Im suppose to be taking Pre-Calc but I didn’t want to because I thought that it was super hard, that’s why I chose AQR, but now that I’m thinking about it, did I made the wrong decision?. I now that I have to take it in college anyway. My only relief is that pre-calc is based on Algebra 2, because in junior year I used to have pretty good grades in algebra. But I don’t know now, im scared of pre-calc. Any advice?

Thank you!

What’s AQR?

^ Advanced Quantitative Reasoning. You can look it up.

My son’s school doesn’t have a course with that name and it’s not my job to google when someone assumes the titles, abbreviations etc that their school uses are universal.

In any case, @DianaSR it sounds like its probably the final course in the math pathway for kids who weren’t up to the regular, college prep level courses. Was it a bad decision? It depends on how competitive the colleges are that you’re applying to. Some schools want to see you take calculus in high school. Some will be fine with the path you’ve taken.

@DianaSR I’d suggest doing precalc, if you can scrape through it. You might need more practice and repetition to do well than other students. That’s OK.

I’d avoid taking watered down classes in HS if possible
