I’m an early grad which means I’ll be taking both Englishes in the same year. I am definitely take AP English III, but I’m afraid it’ll wear me out if I also take AP English IV in the following semester. It’s already exhausting me just having two AP English summer assignments together. While I love reading recreationally, it’s wearying having to do it for answering questions and writing essays.
So, at my school, early grads are not given senior classes until they pass the required junior classes, like AP Eng III. Thus, I won’t officially have AP Eng IV in my schedule until the start of second semester. By the time second semester starts, however, I’ll have already submitted my college apps. Given this, will my second semester grades/classes still impact my admission chances? Will it be bad to drop AP Eng IV after I submit my college application?
As long as you pass AP Lit, with at least a 70%, you’ll be fine. Colleges don’t usually rescind admission unless aceptees begin to flunk classes.
Bear in mind though, in case your early graduation plan goes awry, and you have to end up reapplying as a non-early grad, AP Lit will show up on your transcript.
No. Although if you get a D or an F, your admissions could be rescinded.
It would be better to have made the class change before you submit your applications, but it seems like you already submitted your application. I would still notify the colleges now if you make a change. Regardless, you would be required to notify the college you end up planning to attend of any class changes. Whether that college has an issue with the schedule change will be up to the individual college.
