Is it beneficial to try hard to get into usajmo/usamo? Is it worth the effort compared to other extracurriculars. One advantage is that getting into usamo is “formulaic” as in standardized. It’s not based on the opinion of anybody and usually not on luck. So the title question.
Bump (btw im talking about ivies)
@APromotionalName Only if you enjoy math and competitions. Otherwise you’d be working at something prestigious that you don’t really enjoy.
Also note, making USAMO and doing well on USAMO are two completely different things.
