Hello people I would like to know if 18 in ACT is difficult to archieve because is that what I need…THx all of you…

is this worth replying to?

Dear Satanjie I do not know anything about ACT I m beginning my preparation now, I know that in US this exam is famous but in my country BRAZIL there are not much information here people use to take SAT… so really do not know if 18 is much or not and I still would like to know Bye

do you mean an 18 composite or an 18 subscore? An 18 subscore is difficult, but not impossible, to attain. However, an 18 composite is very easy to get.

I mean in the entire exam… is this score that NAIA require now I do not know the difference between composite or subscore thx

Oh, I think you’ll be fine ;)

THX I think I understand now… you do not know how much I need to pass on this and my problem is that I have only 2 months to prepare

An 18 on the ACT…unless this is a joke…it’s still pretty funny. lol, what’s is analogous to- is it hard to get a 1000 on your SAT? Most people here could get it in their sleep.

An 18 ACT is equal to an 880 SAT score! It’s not hard at all to get.

god some of you people are jacka**es. The guy just wants some information about the 18. The truth is that it is not easy to get. If you lack the proper education then you will porbably find it difficult. Some peopel do find difficulty in taking the act.

It seems as though some of these people on CC are so arrogant in their condesending ways that they forget that the majority of the world don’t score 1300+ and 27+ on the sat and act respectively.

Amen hnbui. what a bunch of jerks.

satanjie-- try to be a little more understanding :)

Just the fact that the OP is on this board implies some sort of initiative and consequentially the ability to get an 18 with ease.

THX all of you, you help me a lot

ACT has four sections – math, science, reading, English – you can obtain a maximum score of 36 in each section and a maximum 36 composite (the average of the section scores). 20-21 in each section and composite is the national average, meaning, if you are familiar with the SAT, that is like getting about a 1050 on the SAT. To have a real chance of admission to highly selective colleges, your usual ACT composite needs to be close to or in the 30’s; an 18 composite is not very good for admission to any colleges that are selective.

THX drusba but I actually need ACT only the the sports league that is NAIA I do not need for universities so what require ACT is the league admissions so I think 18 is 50% of each subject, but I m not sure. I sent one message for the league imformation and they send this menssege see what you understand from this

What I do not know if I have to score 18 in each section or in the hole test
;…

Mr. Kolesnik,

Prospective students must make either a score of 18 on the Enhanced ACT or 860 on the SAT. They must meet the entering freshman requirements defined for the students from each country in the most current Guide to International Academic Standards for Athletics Eligibility, which is published by the NCAA.

You have to average an 18 on every section. That means that if you got a 15 on the english section, a 22 on math, a 19 on reading, and a 17 on science you would average an 18, and that would be your composite score. So average the score on each section to get your composite.

If your really good at one of the four subjects that will be a big advantage for you. Oh, and two months is plenty of time to study for it.

THX SKYHIgh5 your imformation help me a lot

Just keep in mind that the ACT and SATs are written with US students in mind. Someone from a foreign country would find especially the verbal and writing sections extremely hard. For example, my cousin who lived in India wanted to come here for a masters in computers engineering. He had to do the GRE. Acheieved an 800 in math with no prep whatsoever but he got a 440 in verbal even though he memorized the whole 3500 word list! I’m pretty sure many of you would score very poorly on a foreign test as I would too.

P.S. I think the GRE uses the same 800 per section scale
