thanks maxy but i dont know the methods of questions and if i cant solve the question how can i understand ,learn to solve the question?maxy what do you think about SAT classes in u.s ?

I bought Baron’s new and original SAT I prep book for 4$.
I m from India.

I have never been to US, so I can’t help you with the second part of your question :p, but most test preparation books have answers AND explanations. I think that the only book that hasn’t explanations is the college board’s blue book, but you can access explanations from what I’ve seen and heard through their online SAT course, of which I don’t know anything. If I remember properly, all online SAT resources have answer explanations. A very good free online test prep (I tried the Physics book only, but I took the SAT I tests and SAT II Math, Physics) is Sparknotes, on www.sparknotes.com .

ronty,man!! 4$:O.send me a box of that:Di can seel it 50$ in my country

maxy no body knows the second question:)i’m gonna try sparknotes.but nextyear on summer i’ll come U.S for SAT and TOEFL courses.is it enough 4 months to take SAT and TOEFL.what do you think ?

hahaha… :D

no body knows the second question i’m gonna try sparknotes.but nextyear on summer i’ll come U.S for SAT and TOEFL courses.is it enough 6 months to take SAT and TOEFL.what do you think ?

if you want more specific answers regarding SAT, please ask them in the SAT/ACT thread. Some people don’t need any prep at all to score very high, while others, no matter how much they try can’t break a certain score. You have to try out some SAT practice tests and see how you’re handling it. I think that 4/6 months of intensive SAT preparation are quite enough. Again, you have to decide how you approach your SAT preparation by seeing how you handle some practice tests.

maxy can you give me the link of that(without co-signer)
i couldnt find any loans without a co-signer.

as i said earlier, I probably overgeneralized, but the loans I was talking about were here (bottom of the page):
<a href=“Financial Aid and Scholarships”>Financial Aid and Scholarships;

ok maxy thank you for everything yo did for me.you helped alot.i looked to the site and CitiAssist Global International Loan is great for me but the site,new york financial aid’s site.is that only for NYU or for every university?

You are very welcome! Unfortunately, the specific link I gave you is only for NYU. You could visit Citibank’s website for more info on CitiAssist loans, but I believe that the best thing to do would be to actually e-mail Citibank and ask for specific info on loans available to you as an international. Tell them about the schools you are interested in attending and they would more than certainly give you a better answer than I can.

As a side note, I think that the CitiAssist loan is also available at University of Pennsylvania, or at least this is what a UK student at Penn said once.

hımm.:)ok i will send e-mail but if you hear from anyone about UIUC or GaTech.plz write back to me.i!m gonna find it.can run but can’t hide;)

maxy for UIUC i found The Global Student Loan.without co-signer
Globalslc.com;
look that link

Looks at least half promising, but be sure to check out everything! I mean interest can be a killer, especially if, for instance, they force you to pay the interest for the entire loan period, even if you repay the loan in half the allotted time. There might be some catches with loans from any banks, so be sure to check every detail.

EDIT: while this is a start, do keep in mind that this company is not very known. The website does not offer any information until you register, so they might be hiding some things. Scams are popular over the internet, so be wary. If I find anything helpful for you, I will inform you.

thank you maxy.you’re right about website.i’m trying to find a better loan program.

While I agree that 650 in CR is not really extra-ordinary, I can assure you that the reason for your not being accepted is certainly not the SAT. SAT is just one part of the cake, and not even a big part.
Personally, I see one year studying for SAT as wasted time. It won’t pay back that much anyway.

Paraphrasing a genius on this board, I personally believe that any score below the perfect score is a bad score.
