Is it just my computer or has the page gone all weird and narrow?

tsdad - you can change the color scheme back to the old one by scrolling down to the bottom left corner of your screen. there’s a little dropdown box where you can choose “CC” or "fresh’. Change it to CC.

As far as narrow and huge empty blue strips on the side - me too. And I hate it too.

Ahh- you beat me to it, pinot, I was just going to tell them that. I have found, though, that it is the “new” color on my phone. As for the blue striped margins, I am not terribly bothered by them, to tell the truth, but then again I am not having to do that “scroll side to side” thing to read. That would bother me.

PinotNoir:

Thanks. I know that and do it, but I still resent the change that not only added no value but took away usability at least for me.

Change it back…change it back

Oh, powers that be, PLEASE change it back. This is really annoying, and will surely limit the time I continue to waste here. Thank you. : )

I still would like an admin person to explain the purpose/goal of making these changes.

Let’s stage a walkout!

Each

But
maybe
that

Ok I’m being childish and throwing a tantrum. Please listen to us CC people.

Like said earlier, you can change your settings Start to Control Panel to Display to Settings and play around until you like the appearance. I’m at 1280 x 768.

Sure, but I don’t want to change my settings for the sake of one website.

It feels like the point of the page is the advertisements, not the CC content. :(

I don’t mind the ads because I really like things being free! But I do mind the wide, empty margins on the sides. I suppose I could try to learn how to mess around with how it appears to me but please don’t make me do that.

Edited to add: I’m so proud of myself! I went to Control Panel to Display to Settings and tried a few different settings. Unfortunately, all I could do was either keep it the same or make the display even thinner. Hmmm…

In general, sites should let the local browser take care of placement as there are a wide variety of devices used to browse the web from phones to iPads to netbooks to 30 inch displays. I don’t like the new CC look either.

One solution that I normally use anyways, is to set the scroll wheel on max which allows you to scroll quickly through pages on your mouse. At home, I use a trackpad and can scroll quickly through pages with little effort.

notice how it’s all us cranky parents complaining? haha

seriously, this does not work for me at all…and no, I’m not changing my computer for one website because I am sure it will screw something else up…

I find it rather funny that they (mystical CC controllers) changed the format to save space and now there are 3 different threads discussing this formatting (space saving) change.

How does this change “save space”? Looks like a giant waste of space to me.

1920x1080, 23" monitor. The blank spaces on the sides are each about 4.6 inches wide. The space in the middle where the text goes is about 7 inches wide, and there are about 2 inches of ads. So this setting is currently using 50% of the screen.
