My friend applied to ASU about a month or couple weeks ago
GPA : 2.75
Sat: 1810
SAT 2 : math 2 math1 chem get scores later

Great Extracurriculars!!
Great national science fair awards
USAMO USABO etc Isef blah blah

What are his chances of admission if he applied as a business intended major and now he heard that admissions standards are different for business/engineering majors. Can he or is it a wise idea for him to change his intended major somehow so he can secure a seat in ASU??

ASU will accept him to the University College if he meets ASU’s standards but not the standards for the specific school he’s applying to. He can apply to the specific school after he’s completed a semester (I believe, it might be a year) of coursework.

And ASU doesn’t care about extracurriculars or anything other than meeting minimum requirements; they look only at grades/test scores to determine acceptance.

I have a math+CR score of 1120 and applied for a marketing major and a BS degree but ASU has given me admission as a communication major BA degree…is it possible for me to change to marketing if i do well in the first semester or so
