Is it possible to change a submitted application from RD to ED2?

I submitted the application for a school as RD yesterday. But I changed mind. Is it possible to change it to ED2? and How? Thank you!

You can write to the AO and request them to switch your application.

one more question - will the AOs in ED I school know that I am applying EDII school? Will it impact their decision when moving those deferred to admitted?

I assume you were deferred from ED1 school, so your app is now in the RD pool. If so, it is fine to ED2 to another school if you are comfortable with the requirement to go there if accepted. AOs do not talk to each other about applications, so the ED1 AO wouldn’t know if you applied ED2 somewhere else. If, however, you are still being considered for ED1 (which I don’t think is the case, I think all schools have made their decisions), you may not apply ED2.

No they won’t know. And even if they did it wouldn’t matter because your binding ED contract is no longer in effect after being deferred, and I’m sure all admission offices know and expect that deferred candidates will apply to additional schools (it would be imprudent not to do so).

Unethical is the word I would use unless the ED2 app is switched to RD immediately.

And, asking for a friend is not permitted on this site. They are welcomed to start their own account if they want feedback from the members.
