<p>Your essay topic seems fine, but why does an essay about Korea seem like making an excuse? It’s not something you should be ashamed about–maybe there’s somewhere else in the application where you can talk about your experience there. Not in the context of making an excuse, but rather of describing what you learned, etc.</p>
