Is it worth it to pursue a Civil Engineering Major at Embry Riddle in Daytona?

Embry Riddle Aeronautical University is known for its aerospace engineering, but… I’m not sure if I should go there for civil.

It’s ABET accredited and worth considering if costs are not an issue for you. It will certainly cost more than any of the Florida state schools (assuming you are in-state), but you will need to weigh the extra cost with the college experience difference.

How much do you value the smaller, tight-knit atmosphere of a smaller school?

I see the pros of a tight knit atmosphere, but I side more with having a larger school. Just because I’m afraid of not finding where to belong or not having large variety of people.

If you have the chance, perhaps schedule a visit/tour to see for yourself. You may find that you actually like the smaller atmosphere better. In the end, you will get a solid education at many schools, but your experience will vary substantially depending on where you go.

thanks!
