Is Japanese one of the minorities?

I dont see any Japanese student in the forum.
Does this mean there are less Japanese students who are applying for US universities compare to other Asian students, and does this increase my chance to get into top universities? (I’m Japanese)

My stat.

SAT: V 660 M 800 W 640 (essay 11)
GPA: well, I’m not sure about this, but I get 40 out of 42 in IB.
EC: Vice captain of soccer team, Leader of Chinese tutoring club (I’m a native Chinese speaker as well), graphic design club, environmental concern club, and Fund raising club. (I know my EC is very weak)
Working experience: I use all my holidays working.
Essay: very good
Letters of rec.: very good

School applying to:

High reach: Stanford, MIT, Cornell, Columbia
Good fit: Lafayette, Lehigh, USC

Any Chances?

let me tell u …those are pretty good numbers and u will definitely have a good shout at all the universities u have mentioned…that score in IB can only do good to your resume coz people respect IB very highly…EC look alright…and if there are indeed few japanese then my friend u have some serious chances of getting into even the ivies…Best of Luck…

yeah…u hav a good chances…but,as ur name implie,I guess,ur applyin for Engineerin?..then u’ll hav to take the SAT 2 too…

Thanks! yeah, Im applying for Engineering, and I took 3 SAT IIs (Math II, Physics, Chemisty) in Nov. and still waiting for the results which should not be too bad. I think I can get 700+ in all three.

yea…SAT 2 is never a problem for we asians…
