Is the detailed score report considered, or just the number of points is important

<p>Hi,
I received my SAT Subject Tests score report a few days ago and I was very curious about getting 510 pts. on the Writing section. Well, I do have made some mistakes, but moreover I have 4 on the essay. According to a friend of mine, if I got 6 my score would be like 620 or higher (I don’t know if he is right, but it doesn’t really matter). I was wondering if the admissions officers would consider the Writing score by components and not as a whole. I just can help it, I am not a good essay writer, especially under time limit :frowning: In fact, I didn’t get 300 on the TOEFL exactly because of the essay…</p>

<p>I was told that the Writing score is considered by its components, though I cannot verify that. Anyway, I think that if all other parts of your application shine, the Writing score should not bother you that much.</p>

<p>As I said before, my essay-writing skills aren’t quite impressive, if you know what I mean, so I don’t expect my application essays to be perfect. I had a lot of time to think about them and I checked them twice, but I still don’t think I can compete with a good essay-writer…
